long term google ads use will get you a ton of low quality links, not worth it imo.

I've seen a couple of posts in here about websites that ranked using google ads only (search for them),
Google ads traffic will be beneficial for your rankings for sure

Google adwords will not increase your organic traffic, not directly.

Yes why not Run your AD promoting a service that your target websites will be interested in & the you can offer them link back offer for additional discount. Free stuff and discounts are always loved by anyone.
