I am looking into adding Adwords to my skill set. What would you recommend for learning Adwords at a basic level?

I think that spending some money just testing some random campaign options that you are curious about works well. Start by just testing it with cheap indian traffic.

I've never followed any course, but just started running cheap campaigns to get to know the possibilities within the system. Some years later I can now call myself pretty experienced in Google Ads.

Thanks. The people I learned Facebook from gave me some very basic Adwords. But I noticed, the keywords are all very broad. When I took the main topic it pulled lots and lots of keyword ideas just in Adwords. Some with much lower CPCs, yet with decent volume. Am I wrong in thinking building an ad group or campaign around these keywords could get me leads, but at a lower cost?

I realize there could be quality issues, but it seems that building campaigns around keywords that are relevant, but not as competitive could lead to good results.

I would buy some udemy or lynda courses on the subject, or even watch youtube videos about it, set up a test website and put some money into testing things afterwards. You should do the same.

PS: tbh i will torrent/free download the courses and then try to get or buy coupons for Adwords to test stuff out. But thats me, don't know about you though.

Thanks. What I was given has already generated some leads. Fortunately, I have some funds to test with and people to send the leads to test quality.

It sounds like there is no need to spend money on a course, just watch some videos, read some sites, try to gleam some knowledge and then test it out?

Yes, you have got it all figured out. Go for it and post your results in a while. Am sure you are going to make it. - Also spy on your competitors manually to get a feel for their targeting, landing pages and what not.

Thank you for your vote of confidence. I wish I felt it. $40 leads for auto insurance is painful. Fortunately, it is a completely white hat area and easy to spy on just by searching.

Everything you want is on the internet. my tips for you- if you want to learn about AdWords then don't waste money buying the courses as most of the paid courses can be found for free including this forum. Better spend that money on testing then buying the courses

Thank you. I guess I will start searching on here. I was hoping someone recalled a really good thread on it here or a good free resource online.

I'm kind of soured on paid courses. Half of them are crap, 1/4 show you one method but don't really help you understand why so you can grow, and the rest try to show you why, but are done so poorly you are left confused and with no confidence in the instructor.
