Advise on how to sel my bot.

I have asked this question here before and got great answers. Long story short is because I'm using NodeJS I would just sell the product as a service with API.
Ok that's just dandy but but if I was a customer I would not want all my product ideas skimmed liked that. Literally the reason I made the bot was to avoid this for myself.
This bot is an amazon/ebay to woocommerce scraper/lister/orderer and like all the others you don't control the data.

So I'm wondering if there is a way to let users run the app on their server or something without being able to steal it nor me being able to steal their info. I know I could make it very annoying with obfuscation but is there more?
I dunno, maybe I should just sell the code and not worry about pirates.

Create a marketplace thread would be the best solution.
 
Just make it as a plugin? Maybe that would help. The plugin could send requests to your node.js server...

Where I could then scrape all their product ideas. Thats the problem.
 
Two options:

#1 Create REST endpoints with ExpressJS and host it on your own server, which would return data. $6 DigitalOcean droplet should work, when you scale you can buy more expensive servers and maybe set up load balancer with multiple servers behind it.

#2 Encrypt your NodeJS code with NW.js or https://www.npmjs.com/package/nexe or enclose.js if you go electron route.
On top of that I would set up api endpoint for checking if licence is valid, so you can block users.

1st option is more expensive because you need to buy proxsies and captcha and other services required for app to work.
Second option is cheaper for you and less hassle about proxsies, captcha etc, user hadles this with his own api keys.

So you guys think anyone would find extra value in this? Does anyone care about not having all their product ideas looked at by whoever?
 
It's like saying Ahrefs or Semrush will steal your keywords? People trust them because they don't steal. Be trustworthy, don't look at their data. Sign non-compete and privacy related documents with your clients.

In order to do business you must expose some information with others. Everyone knows and understands that.

Everyone on this site seems pretty interested in not exposing their "evergreen niche", I never understood how having someone handle order processing for you wasn't doing just that. I assume if you sell hundreds of a single product, people would notice and either use the info or sell it. Even the big guys are involved in conspiracies I'm sure. Guess thats why in house exists.
