I want to ask you guys advices on my situation after great mistakes been done on my life. I'm telling you in advance, sorry for my bad english.

I've redone 3 years on my university only because of a single one shit mistake : Even if I was registered in university to validate my year (computer science, in online university), I didn't sent the work I needed to send to validate it, because I was too focused on trying to make money online, even though I didn't succeed all those year, even after I've redone 2 years I still kept doing it. And what's even more unfortunate ? Is that I still even now, after all what happened to my life because of this (I've fallen into a depression, lost long term relationship and so on) I still want rather to make money and have almost an urge to test new method instead of starting seriously to study to have a degree. I don't understand why do I want this so much ? Why do I keep neglecting studies which bring an income after getting a degree ? One that is stable and that can let me have a real life? Why do I keep chasing online money ? I kept postponing sending the work until the last minute when it was too late and teachers don't accept things sent in last minute in bulk

I've tried to think about it in a lot of ways but can't find an answer, I tried to analyze my emotions, I feel that studies is a longterm hardwore while I see more "IM" as an easier/faster path maybe? But why can't I keep in mind the fact that it's not stable in the long run and that studies have 100% chance of getting me an income while IM have much lower? While IM have big risks of losing (and I did because I didn't make much money in all those years)

Can someone help me find the issue ? Why can't I just focus like everyone else on my studies while making money aside?

Add another mistake - thinking that its a good idea to study computer science in an online university.

The issue is - probably you understand that studies are not the wisest path to wealth.

It's fine to be a dropout.

Will be hard, tho.

Start to learn.

Work hard.

I knew about that mistake but it's not the main issue, I was going to change to physical university after completing the bachelor degree( I think the first degree of 3y is called like this in USA) the thing is I didn't focused on study. I don't think that not doing studies is wise, but I didn't focused on it since a long time I don't know why, I feel it's not wise at all, IM is just not stable and can't provide a guaranted income, I didn't even make enough to live in a 1st-2nd world country

My opinion is biased by my perspective. Obviously.

I had the same problem as you.

My issue was that on a subconscious level I understand that day job from 9-5 is shit.

You can lose it at any time. You can get sick and no one will care. You are limited to your salary and a 10% rise yearly.

What a joke.

So I started my journey even before finishing high school.

It was a long one. And hell it was hard. And it still continues.

Would I change it for a 9-5 work in my field?

Probably never.

Fake freedom.

IM is not by any means an easy job.
You need to put in the grind to adapt to changes in the field. If it were easy to make money, those with work ethics of top performers from other fields would transfer to internet marketing and blow everyone not grinding out of the water. You need to decide what it is that you want to do with your life at this point, you're kind of at a fork in the road. Once your vision is more clear, fully applying yourself (and succeeding) in one or the other will become much easier.
All that said, stability isn't necessarily a good thing, you're stuck in a box, but you receive both the benefits and drawbacks of being in that box-- there's a glass ceiling for your salary, but also a 'glass floor'.

Are you actually making much money with IM?

I get your point it might one of the reasons that I chose to do IM as well, in addition to wanting to make it big even before getting the degree, I was thinking on making it enough so the degree will be a secondary thing as if I could live even without it(because the degree was something I thought "acquired" not sure if it's the right way to say it for me) it wasn't hard I just needed to sent work.

But I don't think it's wise to rely only on IM it's just too risky, I feel that a diploma should be something to have in the pocket in case things go wrong, but I don't know why then I just register on the year then I start to focus only on IM and neglect studies

i had the same problem basically you need to do both university and 9-5 is a must and a good back up but it s now or the chance to get a degree will fade away just put it aside having a degree would make alot of thing easier and as i am a computer science student as well i picked the choice to focus on my studies idon't mean university and all that i mean the computer science and coding field m studying 24/7 and i think it's the right choice for my case IM needs some $$ to make the wheel role and all that and it may all fade away in a blink but guess what don't fade away ? knowledge if u have been coding for 5 years you will eventually earn more within the next 5 years but what about if you kept spamming $ methods yeah u may get the jackpot and earn like 10 k USD this month but would it be sustainable ? would you do the same the next month what about the next year ? ofc no but if you got a job as a software engineer that pay 70k usd the next 5 years (if you work hard etc) you can earn up to 120k and now you can invest in IM cause IM is here for ever it won't go away and the more you earn as a 9-5 the more you can invest in IM and earn more that's it for me i made this choice couple months ago and i guess m doing okay cause i don't waste alot of time spamming porn websites or youtube to earn a 300$ per month , Hope you will find your path this was my journey so far with that problem

I know that IM isn't an easy job or at least I should know that I don't know what's wrong with me but I see IM as "easier" than studies/regular job, maybe because IM have more freedom while to study I have to eat things I don't like and keep doing it all day to validate the year. Also I think it's better to have a box aside to be in , in case things go wrong than having nothing but the issue is, I believe it in theory but in practice I would postpone studying to make money online...

yes I think 9-5 is a must too but it's like really hard for me to focus on study I don't know why, I tried to decide to stop all IM but I kind of fear of missing out, I fear to waste an opportunity especially because lately some guy helped me to learn new things on IM, I believe like everytime that I'll make it but I finally don't, and waste again more time to study. I'm trying to say to myself I should focus on it like you said, a software engineer should earn way more but I keep doing shit choice, especially nowadays that a guy who made it big helped me recently. Could you stop totally IM and focus on your study?

yes you can stop totally IM and get back to it later IM won't go away you only need $$ to invest and some experience but 9-5 is a must anyway even if your adsense account shut down or your amazon affiliate got suspended the 9-5 got your back and u can start over again don't rely only on IM just try to focus and don't visit IM forums that much

It's hard to stop totally I don't know what happening with me.. like I said I think I can succeed this time with the new knowledge I have but I'm afraid of making the same mistake again this time and yes the the 9-5 can really got your back , I can even say that usually in most of cases the real job is better than a IM one yet I can hardly convince myself in practice. Did you stopped IM to focus on your dev skills now?

Not everyone who makes good money is brilliant and not those who are brilliant in School always make good money.

People will judge you by the money you will make and not by your degree once you reach to a level where you will be earning more than your Degree holders!

But according to your case, you should first focus on your degree and you can join IM anytime and make good money if you have the will, mind and you work hard, you need a backbone first.

If you absolutely love and have a passion for your 9-5 job, that is a dream job then. There's no such thing as 9-5 jobs all being bad
and slave labor and IM meaning freedom and passion. It all depends on what YOU want and are passionate about in life. It has nothing to do with IM or 9-5 job itself.

Studies do not guarantee you a job. Plenty of college grads, masters, and phD grads don't end up with good careers. They end up opening a restaurant or cafe, or trying new career paths all the time. At the same time, dropping out of school doesn't mean you can't be educated and have a great job/career. The problem is the "stigma" of being a dropout and not having a college degree. These are unnecessary chains and cages that imprison us because we feel like our worth and value comes from an achievement such as graduating college. I hate these rigid forms of thinking and seeing the world.

The degrees and papers do not make you. You make those degrees and papers. Whatever it is you do, if you love it, if it benefits others and yourself, then you have your calling or "dream job". Basically, think of something you'd do even if it wasn't paying you any money. That's how you know you really love it and that's what you want to be doing or pursuing.

True prison is living a life your entire life doing something only because you need the money. That is not a great way to live but sometimes that is the only way to live in a given situation.

Alternate your life between IM and university that shows if u have real dedication.

If you are not 40 years old, with a wife and 2 kids, then you can handle both.
Get your degree, get a job and meantime work on your online projects too. 8hrs at job and 4hrs on IM it's pretty doable, until you find something that works for you and you can quit your job. Getting a job it's better because you will have money to invest and also a backup, in case your IM plan fails.
You don't have IM experience and even u will work hard, this doesnt guarantee your success, especially if u are (almost) broke. You will do noob mistakes.
I don't consider it worth to risk your living and your future for an IM career while u can easily handle both, online and offline.

Good luck!

I everytime reverse my priority to focus on IM rather than study, how to beat the urge to go doing IM and postponing studies?

I tried to focus and do IM aside those last years and that's what lead me to redoing 3 years in university, I keep postponing studies and focusing on IM I don't know why.. I would like to focus mainly on studies and doing IM as side hustle, but I everytime reverse priority by priorizing IM over studies, postponing studies until it's too late. How do I manage the urge to make money online and keep my schedule? I think it's more of a instant gratification issue or something I don't know

You can do both just split your time correctly, no one is too busy for start a small project and take the university degree, you´re just lazy so stop romanticizing the "quit your 9-5" "colleges don´t work", etc, a lot of companies will pick first someone with a degree unless u don´t have one but a really big project that could make up for the lack of your degree.

It's not that I'm too busy, but more on the fact that I have an urge to make money, it's as if I associate easier IM with money while I associates study with hustle, degree not really money directly like with IM in my brain(Is it laziness? something else?). I agree with you that most of companies recruit someone with a degree yes..

I do not pretend to know what is the right choice to make - but I sincerely wish you well in your journey and that the choices you make work out well for you.
