I was wondering if anyone had any advice to someone just getting into selling marketing on a service for someone who has only ever done it for themselves. (besides writing properly ;) )

I have been in the IM thing for about three years now. I can pretty much rank sites if I have the budget black or white hat and have PPC and conversion optimization skills enough to be positive ROI on the campaigns I do have. I have been sticking mainly to eCom and affiliate and doing great in that arena but a buddy of mine that is big into sales wants to start an agency and I just want to do a project with him so I agreed to it. We will be cold calling like mad and neither of us are the "I don't want to do that" types so anything that can be done that works I am interested in.

I am also interested if anyone is part of any groups or forums that specialize in selling marketing services for local business. If it is anything like eCom there are certain things that everyone that has success does that I probably do not know yet.
