So I’m going to be joining Forbes. And I’ll be able to have direct links to my personal website Twitter Instagram linked in Facebook, etc..

how do I take advantage of this?

I have a personal business. Should I do a press release? My picture and everything will be featured in Forbes website all year long as I will be writing for them.

First of all, congratulations mate. You've got a great opportunity and it can benefit you in not one but many ways. Do not ever think of leaving your own business as at the end of the day, it is the one that will make you grow. So, prefer hiring a manager who can look after your business and also, make timely appearance on your business's website and social media handles as more people would already know you from FORBES. This is going to be a great years for you ahead and I wish you luck.

Well you have a huge advantage ,you can promote your business in the articles and i am sure forbes gets a lot of traffic
Many people spend a lot of money on ads to promote their stuff etc but you can do it for free as you are a forbes writer

You can be VIP seller here and sell fobres backlinks

interesting. Never thought of that. Please advise.

Thank you. I think so too. I just need to figure out how to use this opportunity to position myself. I don’t know the best way. I want people to google my name and see.

any ideas how to use this to push me to the next level maybe get paid co silting gigs?

Maybe press release

Forbs backlinks are being sold for 500-2000$, while guest posts for probably even more, used it

Wow this sounds great for you! First thing is DO NOT MESS UP YOUR FORBES POSITION.

Be careful putting out links just make sure you don't go against Forbes terms of service ya know?

Thank you for the suggestions. However I’m more interested in using this to propel my career forward. I’m not an influencer I don’t have an Instagram. If I did have one with a lot of followers that would be huge benefit clearly.

I’m not a person to take selfies and post my pic online all day long. However this position I feel can really help me. Hey putting my whole bio on their website.

Exactly. This is a big thing every article online will have my name a link to my bio. My bio allows me to have my personal website Instagram Twitter etc.

Any other advice greatly appreciated. Don’t want to abuse the position but use it to put me in a unique position after the position. The position contract is for 1 year.

I will be interested if you can have an article for my legit business with backlink for me. :)

I think you need to determine how do you want people to see you when they search your name on Forbes.

For instance, do you want to be seen as an expert in business administration? Maybe you want to be seen as an expert in SEO? If so, do you want to be publicly black hat, or stick to white hat stuff? Perhaps there's another way you'd want to be viewed by others.

I keyworded the heck out of my Forbes Bio and I get a direct link to my personal website.

anyone think I should do a press release about this?

Congratulations! Just build your career first and everything will follow.

Well my career is building. this forbes thing is a side gig for my main gig to get me national notice.

im in a service industry type profession. so getting press and recognition is going to help me beat out my local competition. its a branding thing

I see. Like the admin, mention, it's up to you if you will go white hat or blackhat. It's always great if you can share some ideas to us in the long run. Every company has their own guidelines. Basically, you can do anything you want as long as you don't violate anything—conflict of interest, etc.

Well I meant sure being on Forbes is great but realistic only people who search Forbes know. I wasn’t sure the best way to reach out to people or get it in the news so local people think “WOW I am going to contact him for my service”
