Hey everybody! So I have a SaaS tool which I'm quite proud of. It's mainly focused on students. I'm sure it has GREAT potential (coming from a medical student and I love it). I haven't launched it yet, but I do need advice. I'm very new to the online marketing world, so I'm scared I'll tank it if I launch it myself. So: I need your advice on if I should partner up with someone more experienced, or just go for it myself.

Thank you so much for your advice, really appreciate it. The thing is, I have limited time and money (being a full time student). Which is why I was contemplating of getting a partner. I would've loved to launch it myself completely; but it seems hard. I'll focus on your advice though, and try my best to do it myself. Thanks!Should go for itMaybe hire someone to assist you, to make sure your app launches safe. You can also ask people to test it - this is even required for new Google developer accounts.

A lot of salespeople work on straight commission.

It's ok, launching an application to the play store and app store may seem a little complicated. I haven't launched one myself, neither.
As you mention not having a lot of money, maybe it works well if you ask a relative or a close friend to assist you in the project. So you can share and have someone to talk with, maybe a co-student who you like.

I think 99 percent work on commission with a small base, as it's a way to keep people motivated to hit their goals. I could be wrong, as I've never worked it, but I kinda figured that, with the base usually being so low, it would correlate with that.

That is the business model to a T.
In fact, that is how I got paid in my first job in the bottled water business.
The guy who hired me ended up being a friend for life, and we talk weekly, take short vacations together, and at one point, worked for me.
I still complain to him to this day, he underpaid me financially, but overpaid me with his knowledge, and he still overpays our friendship with his love, wisdom and support.

Start making 1 new account on Reddit now. Join medical-themed groups. Slowly like posts and write comments every now and then. Don't publish any of your own posts for a long time. Log in to Reddit every day and like posts.
Make the same thing for LinkedIn. But there make friends with medical teachers, employees, and students.
Make the same thing for X, Threads.
You need Guest Post of this SAAS product when it´s 100% ready.
I recommend writing it in ChatGPT and edit the things to look better with your own edits.

This is a classic approach that almost every micro-SaaS tries, but one that usually fails in the long run. With Reddit, at best you might get a few early, excited free users and maybe a couple of links by leaving some comments that’s all. On Reddit, especially for SaaS products, even opening a new thread and keeping it alive is a fundamental effort on its own.

Your concern is valid, but I wouldn’t rush into partnering just out of fear.
In my experience, partnerships make sense when there’s a clear skills gap and aligned incentives — not just because someone is “more experienced”.
