Hello,

After being on here for a few months now I decided to build my first website on wordpress, I think it looks okay but i cant help thinking i am totally messing up somewhere with the on site SEO as google is not picking it up i have registered and verified it with google also done facebook, google plus and twitter accounts for the site. it is a local roofing website for my town in the UK. ( i would post the link but not sure if i am allowed)

If anyone could give me any advice it would be much appreciated. Also the site has been up since the beginning of January.

Thankyou

Send me the link via PM. Not selling anything, just willing to help and it's a lot easier to help if I know what I'm looking at.

not sure if you have these in the UK, but if you do then list the site in

Yahoo local
yelp
city search
merchant circle and so on

If there is a chamber of commerce join their to get you site listed.

Do some post on facebook and twitter and get some friends to share them

Don't post the site here for everyone to see. Make sure your website looks great on mobile devices because a lot of social media traffic and local people search for services through their phones.

register at Google locals, and verify yourself with the Google maps, wikimapia. Classified posting may also work in your case.

If your website just looks "Ok", I'd work on ensuring it looks great first, before focusing on SEO.

Do local citation so it will help you
