Hello I have an idea for some niche sites that are all under one category. I was wondering if I should have my site all under one domain or broken down into smaller niches on different domains.

For example say my category was guns.

Would it be better to host all content on guns.com? or would it be better to have ak47.com, m16.com, etc.?

Thanks for any comments.

If you narrow it down too much, you'll run out of things to say pretty quickly. If you make it too broad you might not be able to market all the keywords. Far as the guns example goes, I'd put them all under one site, unless you have 100's of articles you can think of about a single gun.

I wouldn't go with either guns.com OR ak47.com, I would go with rifles.com and handguns.com
I usually find my tiny niche, then dial it back 1 to go for an authority site that won't be TOO broad. Then I build it out first on the niche I am most interested in, then broaden it out.

It depends how fast you want to rank and how much long term effort you'll be putting into it.

Go with guns.com if you plan to do a shit ton of link building to build authority, and heavy on page SEO

On the other hand, if you go with ak47.com or a modifier like bestak47s.com then you will obviously rank for ak47s much faster then you would for guns.com/ak47

Ranking all under one site may sound easy. But if you are planning to monetize it with Adsense, you would receive a very low cpc. If the niche you have right now earns you good cpc, I suggest you to stick with the same and expand the site with new keywords by running a competitor research.

Hi,

Don't buy many domains It is a waste of time and money. one domain is enough and put other sub categories under them
Too many domains for one topic will slow down your domain authority growth.

Try to go by subniche instead of narrowing it down too much or leaving it quite broad.

every sub category under one site, build rich content and backlink.

it will be an authority site.

Or maybe guns.com/ak47, guns.com/m16. Also you can build categories and make links like guns.com/rifles/ak47
