Advice on making a promo video

hi all im new in here hope use are all good

im just looking for advice on how to make a pomo video for my up and coming trance event

im not 100% sure were to start tbh

so any advice would be much apracaited

yes not a problem were holding a dance music night in edinburgh in summer 2011 but im hoping to make a promo video for the event to put on the website once its uploaded and the fb page

im unsure of what software to use i know what information i need to put on it but im not sure how to go about it the most video production i have ever done is windows video maker nothing special

im actualy curious aswell to what program ppl use for this
