So, i have a web dev business and currently working within my country/locally.

However, here, due to a bad state most businesses are in, i neither host nor maintain clients' websites.

I wanted to find 20-30 North American clients total, with whom i would work using subcription model (i maintain the website, i host it, i take care of it if something happens etc.

Since i would really love them to be more or less warm leads, i figured a should spend a few months building my reputation and somewhow putting myself out there.

What would be your advice, if i have a couple of months to work on my visibility while also developing locally?

Any input would be very appreciated

Yes, firstly you need to show your reputation on your locality, clients always look for reputation companies having some background experience.

number 1 rule that has always worked for me over the years..

Provide stunning result. Make it so good that they feel special (even if it is a free review copy that you are providing).

You won’t need anything else. The clients will come back to you next time by themselves.

Keep doing that and you will never run out of business.

I totally agree

These are great questions, back when CL was free to post, I posted 4 posts a week in different categories for offering my services. I got maybe 1 lead a year from that. Now CL cost $5/post in services section. If you do not have a lot of money starting out, $20/week is kinda expensive to keep up for a whole year. I've not tried adwords or fb ads yet. I've had small success talking to different businesses in person and giving my business card out. I need to try it again though. I tried cold calling for a day, had a list I was making in google sheets. I didn't stick with it though. Cold calling is kinda of taxing and usually if you want a good client that will pay you for future projects you need to target entrepenuers, richer people and startups. Most of my clientelle has come from CL. Maybe you could try facebook ads and target people that follow "Robb Report" and other things that rich people follow. I am still meaning to do that.

One thing I thought of, is offering a business that has a lot of inperson traffic like(a vet clinic) a free website and in exchange they would let me have my cards and flyers on their counters.

try to proivde the best results then ask them if they need the maintenance or directly contact the website owners to get them that would work

Because you already are in web development, I can say that you should first start to promote your services on Social Media Platforms.

Try to connect with businesses via email or on LinkedIn.

You can search for different businesses on Google and then open their websites and find email ids of the webmasters or admins. This way you can connect with them.
I would also suggest you to write blogs in your niche which is "website development and maintenance". You can use any website like blogger, or thewiki Network or Word Press, just ensure that you should choose a website or blogging platform which can get your blog published in a few minutes.

This will help you gain more exposure ... Let me know if you need any further help!

attempt to give the best outcomes then inquire as to whether they need the upkeep or straightforwardly contact the site proprietors to get them that would work

1. Try Google Ads or social media ads platforms.
2. Provide Good Customer services, If possible add live chat and provide 24/7 support
3. Join https://www.alignable.com/ and do networking there
