Lets say i want to enter for Example German market to promote a product XX (let's say the niche is firearms / tactical). How would you promote it? on which channels? and how would you measure performance?

would it be good to go directly with the sales campaigns via AdWords and Facebook, or more on the branding side, or what would you do?

hire a facebook specialist and adword , first use a small amount to see results .

If it's that kind of specialist is there not an issue with the ToS of large platforms carrying that kind of ad content?
If it's specialist there's bound to be communities, shows and federations, with volume & trust.
Maybe look at what is available there

Choose Social media's like FaceBook, Insta, and Twitter and target location. Choose the best edited post which attracts your customer to buy, use some attractive captions as well, #tags relates to particular locations and product.

There are many other methods so you can easily promote your products.

Well, I don't have experience with this, but once I seen a youtube video about a guy from my country who is selling phone cases with custom designs, when he moved to other countries he hired marketing people, but not from his native country, for example if he wanted to enter to german market he hired a german marketing person, mostly they just contacted influencers, atleast that's what was told in the video.

it's vary depend on your products and your business model, if your product is for individual and a common product, you can use facebook or Google. If your product is for business perpurse, Google should be better
