Advice Needed (Which domain name should i choose)

I am have a three word .com domain name that i purchased 2 years ago. A year ago i published 3 articles there. Then stopped working on it.

Now i want to start working on that niche again, but i heard that shorter domain rank better, but no exact match domain name is not available,

only .zone name available with EMD,
Now, that .com domain name will expire in 1 month,
So, what is your advice? Should i go 3 words .com domain or 2 words EMD with .zone tld?

(Note: In this niche i have seen many EMD ranks better, than .com)

if you do enough / proper SEO you can rank any domain. Also, I've never heard of shorter domains ranking better, may I ask you for a link / source to this claim?

well, this info bothers me because I was just about to recommend you to stick with your current domain (because of the .com TLD and because you have aged content on that domain), but now that you've mentioned this I don't know what to say because you're making a strong argument

Go for three word aged domain.

shorter domain looks attractive and are easy to remember for your audience but they do not have any affect on SEO. You actually need to post quality content and have to build good backlinks to get better results in SERP.

however 3 words domain name looks great and you should definitely use it for your website
