Hi All,

After pinguin 2.0 my keywords seem to be set on "hold" by google. I think i did not get a penalty becourse some of the keywords are stil in the top 10. My main keyword droped from #1 to #6. I did ad content, web 2.0's, blog comments, social media etc. Nothing helps it is stil on #6 for 2 weeks now.

Any advice from experts how to get it back on #1. ( i do not think google did give my website a penalty becourse some keywords are still in the top 10)

Regards and thanks for reading my post and the help.

This is something i am also seeing with some of my keywords. Add content and links but just stays in same position. This may be a new form of penalty and also a way to discourage us by just keeping the keyword on hold and have us waste time trying to push it up. I would recommend you assume the site is penalised and start building a new site to replace it. Best case scenario you have two sites ranking and worst case you have not wasted time just waiting on your site to recover and you have replaced it.

A good solution nowadays when such thing happens is to wait a week, then check results again and based on them judge is it really penalized or just danced for a while..

My situation is exactly the same. Although I never was in a first place I've now dropped to #6. My site has been in that place for 2 weeks now and it feels like my link blasting has no effect, not even a dance. Don't know what should I do. Maybe I just keep building links a couple more weeks and do a 301 to a new domain if the situation doesn't change..

Sounds like great advice. No downside and proactive. The wait and see appoach can work but doubling down on inaction can be costly.

OP, what's your backlink profile look like?
What percentage of exact anchors you using?

My research in my niche has shown that sites using 'page title' for at least 30% have gone up for their keywords.

I've recently had great success with social media. My keyword was more geo targeted, so it worked better. Dont know how it will be of use to you, but its worth the try.

best approach would be wait and see, and if the ranking doesnt come up you can start from scratch again. In the meanwhile you can try having targeted keywords based on geographical areas, it might help.
