Hi,
I sold an Instagram account for a really good price and the new owner wants me to work for him the week-ends, to help him, I'll have a giving advice role type.
How much do you think i should ask? is it better a fixed amount of dollars each week or an hour wage type of deal?
Thanks
If you want more precision I can provide them.

You have to determine the worth and value of your work.
If you are doing it on weekends or free time only means per hour basis will be good.

Thanks but how can you determine your worth value?

well, how much an hour would you be willing to get paid without feeling like your being screwed for your time?

If he wanted to pay you $10 an hour for teaching him for 8 hours, would you feel screwed or feel accomplished?

Then again side money is side money no matter what way you look at it.

Don't sell yourself short bro, you have the upper hand, and the leverage. Ask yourself what would make you happy. If it was me? 35 an hour.

Depends on what he wants you to do and how much time it will take you to do it. What does he want you to do exactly?

If he already bought you the account for a nice price (let's say a little bit overpriced) I wouldn't charge him so much for the mentorship. Maybe something around 5-10$ per hour would be good to go IMO.

This kind of after sell helping shit doesn't end well most of the time from what I've heard, especially if on long run.

$15-$20 I would say since you are specialized. Even $40 is not off if your role is an instagram marketing consultation.

He wants me to help him grow the account after the transition, i'll need to stabilize the followers lost, do an audit about the new niche, maybe find pictures not sure so could be a lot of work.

Yes, i'll have an expert advice giving type of role

i will have less time to take care of my accounts, what's the point of working for 5$/hour?

Recommend him a friend of yours who will love to do it. You set a nice side job for your friend and your client also get what he wanted.

This is a major problem with SEO overall. You get blamed for everything even months later.
Well he already kinda started fucking up the account, the picture he's posting is at best average quality.

Then double what you were going to ask to get him out of that shit again. If he does not want it then it's his fault.

Charge him what you think your time would cost - how much would you be making if you were running another aspect of your business.

I'm familiar with the situation. A client of mine hired a big company to do his SEO, they fucked it all up so he came back last year and I had to fix months of shit.
