Yes, it will give you teh chance if you can go at least semi viral for lots of people to see your ads, and you can make them appear how you want in your own IWA, none of this side bar, or above post breadcrumb nonsense, make your add stand out and be where you want it to be for maximum impact. With my IWAs (I have my first to start in December) I plan to have a paywall, so for extra interactivity, and fun, people have to pay a small fee to sign up, and join my list. Otherwise. I don't want them on my site talking up resources! (they can't because with a good IWA, you can limit easily the fun they have on the front end, with features that they will love onc they sign up, and you already programmed them in the back end.
You have the ability to use apis, with things like merch to sell canvas art, or t-shirts, or other things, (playing cards I've seen before too) And please for the love of life, don't ask me what to make one about!

The point is you make them as crazy and fun, and virally potential as possible.
With a blog you might eventually start to get 100 views at best a day when you start and for a couple of years after that, depending on what niche you pick. With an IWA you can get that on a bad day, and scale up to thousands of visits per day as your site gets shared by others on social for not being another run of the mill blog. But an interactive learning and content delivery platform, then they'll surely sign up understanding that you put quality work into an unusual web application, and you'll carve a place in their emotions, with the element of fun.
Plan out your IWA well. Get all your graphical assets from somewhere cheap and first-class like Freepik, as they have millions of vector quality assets. Use a quality ide to program those assets inside a javascript web app for example. Or even use godot to build a fun interactive game. that has a 2d and 3d engine that can be exported to html/js too.
A blog takes like 30 minutes to setup. Thats why they don't get views mostly, the bar is too low. How many people are developing rich IWA's though? They take days of planning, and months of work. Yet, they are like the supercharged, multi-talented muscle robot for your American football team! lol
People generally don't care for the ordinary. They want the extra ordinary! Go get 'em tiger!
