Been a great fan of this site for a fair while now, but just decided to ask a question.

My website is a martial arts video site and get approx 10k unique hits per day, more when theres a big event, less at other times.

I know this is about average for this type of site, but still my adsense does not get clicks, last Sunday I got 45000 Page impressions with just $1.20 return, as I live in the UK this is approx 0.58p.

The feed back I get from Matial Arts Forums it generally very positive, so its not that vistors dont like it...

Any constructive advice would be great, or black hat tricks.

The URL is hxxp://free--ufc.info

remove the -- change xx to tt.

Thanks in advance

Not a bad site, main problem is that your main adsense ad in the center of your site is not related to UFC or martial arts - same for your a/brite ads - not related to your theme.

my 2 cents worth

Thank for the quick feedback.

I have added channels via adsense but must be doing something wrong, any ideas on how to stop some adds and get more relevant one up...

wow 5 adsense skyscrapers? thought this wasnt allowe to have so many on one page.. and the thing with adsense is trial and error, experiment with different plcings.. ad formats and so on..

Running adbrite and google together is gonna get your ass booted by Google.

I thought google would be ok, I heard that the google policy had changed.

Here is Google's policy and it hasn't changed.

"We are Google and we make the rules. We will fuck you every chance we get. Piss on you if you don't like it."

Seriously though, I'm pretty sure that having more than 3 ad blocks on the same page will get you canned.

actually what iv found rather effective (and i havnt been booted from google for it yet) is to put adbrite as the primary ad with a minimum ecpm that beats good's avg ecpm then put the good ad code in the adbrite block in the control panel to be displayed when adbrite cant find ads that pay as well, 3 adbrite/adsense blocks with this, then the full page ad thingie that adbrite does along with a 'install firefox' cpa from adsense tends to be a decent combo! i managed to get a 17c ecpm with adsense alone upto about a 2$ ecpm with that combo

So does anyone know for sure if I will get canned by google for other ads on same page, adbrite are fine with this.

Also has anyone got any idea how to improve my adsense problem or make some extra cash from my traffic.

Read the TOS. It's still not allowed by Google to have AdBrite and AdSense on the same page. You can use something like Kontera with AdSense but not a look alike. It's all in the TOS...

As long as the format of the adbrite ads are different from the adsense ads, you will be fine. For example, red text for adbrite, black for adsense. I just read something from google about this a few days ago.

EDIT: Found a quote from Google:
"In order to prevent user confusion, we do not permit Google ads or search boxes to be published on websites that also contain other ads or services formatted to use the same layout and colors as the Google ads or search boxes on that site."

I would suggest you to
1. Change the top ads to Link Unit. This can increase CTR.
2. Remove the adsense ads at left side
3. Keep the right side ads (as people may click on the ads beside scrollbar)
4. Place ads at the middle (between the content)
5. Split test the CTR of different ad placement, then split test colors

just my 2 cents... hope this help!

I think what you should do is you should signup for adbrite and use their InVideo adds. It places add on the top of your video which is quite relevant to your content. This will works gr8 with your site. You can optimize your adsense adds with all the advice given above and you can make extra money with InVideo.
