In the last days I found 2-3 advertisers that bids (have ads) on my brand keyword on google search.
What can I do to stop them?

Thank you.

They don't have my brand name on their ads or websites, but continue stealing my traffic.
I've been working for over 7 years to build that name, and now someone use it.

I lost about 15-20% of traffic because of this.

I'd appreciate any kind of help.

You can't do much to stop them. unless you fill a complain to Google that will take a lots of time to get their attention

I haven't done PPC in years, although I remember this tactic was advised against since users searching for a specific brand already know what they're looking for. Usually, a consumer only does this if they can't remember the URL (e.g., .org, .net, .com, etc), out of habit, or they're just being lazy. The same rules applied to SEO, and I remember when I used to rank for a competitor's brand name (come on, of course I still tried it...), it barely brought in any traffic.

Thinking on it now, whenever I search for specific brands, people's competitors have been doing this left, right, and centre for the last year. Searching the company "Josh's Frogs" as an example, there are currently ads from Chewy and Amazon all over the SERPs.

Perhaps someone with more data and recent experience with PPC can tell you why the landscape has changed so much over the last couple of years, although I'd wager everyone big and small is pushing the envelope.

The sad answer is that you can't do anything to stop it, except for asking them to stop (a method that is surprisingly effective from my experience).

You can make their campaigns more expensive by running, yourself on your brand keyword. You'll get an automatic QS of 10 while they will get stuck with 1-2, meaning that in order to outrank you they'll need to bid 5-10 times higher. This way you also get some of you previous traffic back.

try DDOS on them o_O

I was sending some meaningless papers writen by lawyers, that i will sue them cause it's gaining unfair advantage or whatever, usually worked even for big brands

I can't do much, my brand is not registered :)
I was thinking to "send" some non-converting traffic to their ads.

...and I did it. I created a campaign on sproutgigs asking people to search for my brand keywords and click on ads results.
I have sent about 500 clicks to 2-4 advertisers, and it seems ALL of them or not doing ads on my keyword anymore, lol.

simply send a legal letter over to their mailbox

inform Google ads about it

rank higher in paid searches
