Hey all,

Over the weekend I had my VA compile a list of local businesses for a niche I'm ranking well for. I plan on selling/leasing the site that is ranking good. I had her get company name, address, email, phone, and fax.

My plan was to do an initial email marketing campaign to them, then do direct mail a couple days later, but that fax number was stairing at me.

So has anyone ever tried marketing via fax? Wikipedia makes it sound like basically a no-no ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junk_fax )

I have never tried it but I think it may not be a no no depending on how many businesses you are planning to fax to. But if you are debating between email and fax I think email would be the better form of communication.

Yeah,

I sent out my email today, to 39 people. Had 8 opens so far and 4 people click through to my video sales page.

I will be postcarding them (or doing the real dollar on a sales page thing) later... probably putting that together tomorrow.

Will send another email out to them in 4 days or so.... someone will bite...

If no one wants it in the next couple weeks... I might try fax.

I'm sending out 1300 emails to businesses in my niche. Then I'm following that up with cold calls. I have 3 outside salesmen in the chamber, too.

Just trying to go from- easiest, hard, hardest. Although, I believe that a personal visit would really convert well.

If you are going to use the fax to advertise, you should make the fax a direct commincation with the company, personalized and non-spammy.

Then you can get away with it. But unsolicited faxes are the same as spam emails in the eyes of the law... I've sent alot over the years but never used it as a primary source for leads.
