Advertising A New Forum

OK, do you guys have any suggestions to how I should go about advertising a forum I just started? It's a forum for advertising your edm event. EDM meaning "Electronic Dance Music Event". There are a few forum directories out there but I'm starting from the ground up and I don't want to piss anyone off. Anything will help and I would be most appreciative.

You should promote your site by increasing more member and conversation to your forum site.

try to optimize your edm keyword and google adwords is good pick though.

If you already have lots of members, they might help you promote the site, especially if the site is really great.

Forgot to mention hiring forum posters and making more number posts is another way of promoting your website.

I would suggest getting some forum posters to post on your forums to show some activity level. Nobody wants to join a blank forum.

Prob not want you want to hear, but if your site is unknown, and search levels arent that good... or the phrase isnt well known yet, then you are probably better creating a relevant page on facebook and snap up the vanity url sharpish... then promote that with a little ppc... you should get some decent fans, and then drive them to your forum by linking via an app on the page.. you can still progress your site with SEO etc but Fb would be a quick way to drive traffic for now...

could try to swap a few good things for 3 or 4 forum posts could try like a review on alexa or a review on google places with real accounts as well i'm sure people would help out that way and you would be doing them a favor too

I'm building up a new messageboard too.
I hired myself 20 posters who are posting arround 300 posts per day.
I bought some quality backlinks to related websites and am now creating high PR profiles on related messageboards.
Idea is to get soon my sites well ranked on google to start getting a good amount of organic traffic + from backlinks
and that people will post seeing the board is with full of quality content.
Using some fake posts on messageboards which have a related section of my messageboard.
Am also going to buy clicks from facebook and google using vouchers.
Also try to trade some permalinks at the bottom of the messageboard.

Youtube is your way for a music forum. Make relevant videos (no copyright violations) and put your forum url in the description.

"Unknownn" is spot on. PM me if you need some short videos to post on Youtube. Make sure you do not violate any of the Youtube policies either.

This is a great Idea, at least there are someone who can fill up messages and posts for the site.
