Advanced Onsite SEO Techniques

I'm not talking about putting keywords in the title tag, h tags, etc.

Anyone got a good resource for advanced techniques?

Good ebooks or something?

I've been through all the simpleton bs...

Non-newbie stuff, for example, using your keywords in H1 links that appear in the top corner of your page and other shit you see on websites of SEO companies...

i think learning aboul LSI (Latent semantic indexing) would be a good move for now.
it's not advance but not many marketers talk or use it

Not sure it's very helpful or has helpful as some other simple gimmicky things which seem to go in and out of vogue...like the h1 trick mentioned above.....

I'd be psyched if I was wrong and LSI could significantly boost rankings...

There isn't really anything "advanced" about on page SEO.

As another poster mentioned, LSI is something you should definitely look into.

Maybe creating dynamic pages targeting keywords your visitors used in google to find your site could be considered an advance technique.

Hello donberto,

From what I understand about onpage SEO, once you get the basics down there is not much that needs to be done. You could look into LSI but, of course, you would be hard-pressed to find someone that could show you solid results.

Even with the risk that you could potentially be wasting a ton of your time learning LSI without any results I figure with enough people talking about it I should at least give it a shot. Better to get on board when something is new.

I think LSI takes a backseat to simple on page optimization and any "tricks"....

What about the idea that you should base your onsite SEO on the level of optimization of other high ranking sites for your keyword...?

Website Auditor (SEO Spyglass folks) use this methodology...

I had a site ranking 16 for competitive tax type keyword, hadn't done anything to it for a year or 2... I recently relaunched the site on wordpress and highly "optimized" it per the book and it's now sitting in the 100s...

My SEO Process is something like this,
1. Create keyword page with a keyword density of 2%
2. Use SENuke To Get Some Backlinks from Web 2.0 and Social Bookmarking.
3. Submit To Article Blueprint
4. Publish Press Release
5. Repeat If Not Number 1 on Google.

It gets some pretty high success rate. Depending on competition. The Hardest part is coming up with content for articles and blog posts

Hello on page SEO technique is not all about creating meta tags like h1 tags, alt tags but you need to check the keyword density of the site, content analysis etc.

You really have to just work like everyone else and learn one piece at a time like us all. This is an SEO forum and there are a few other seo forums. Also SEO blogs just like posted above. That is one of many.

Really not very helpful comments.

I'm no newbie... I'm asking about advanced stuff... and what do you mean onsite seo isn't about various tags? Of course it is in conjunction with internal linking, content, coding, etc.

And saying "you got to work at it like everyone else" is really as helpful as saying "go find out for yourself b/c I'm not going to provide substantive suggestions".

People are helping you but you need to look internally instead of thinking others are in error.

I'm not saying anyone is in error, rather it's a statement of the obvious.

I'm not looking for a DP response...

Ok internal linking, so what's the best methodology for internal linking? What's an advanced technique? Don't tell me to read Rand Fiskin's blog...How about something concrete...

And if you don't want to share (I understand) then be kind enought to point me to a specific awesome blog post, thread or ebook, something that's helpful...
