I'm interested in views on whether an adult site can get away with lower quality backlinks than more mainstream sites? A few things to consider;
- Don't want to churn and burn; sites need to rank as long-term as possible.
- Many of the sites in the niche I'm looking at have quite low DR and few backlinks or if they lots of link they are pretty spammy.
- From browsing some adult webmaster forums it seems that there are plenty of webmasters actively trading/selling/exchanging links.
Given that this is an industry where it's always going to be quite difficult (granted, not impossible) to generate truly 'white-hat' links (i.e 'proper' guest posts or 'earned' links to good posts etc) and given the state of competitors backlink profiles is it likely to be a reasonably safe bet to copy some of the less spammy links or techniques from competitors, even if they are perhaps more spammy than links I would accept to a more mainstream site?
Or in this situation, would you go for trying to create the best content possible and look for anywhere that might accept editorial content of an adult nature?
