AdSense with multiple sites?

I have one blog that is doing well with an AdSense account currently.

I want to start another blog (already started, actually) in a completely different niche, and I also want to run AdSense on this second site.

I have read that I do not need to reapply with the second account, I just need to place the adsense code in the new blog. Does this sound about right?

You can place as many ads on as many sites as you want as long as you are obeying the TOS.

You can use the same adsense for any number of sites. Good luck

Yep you sure can, I currently have the same adsense account for 5 different sites after getting it approved with 1 of them, just make sure they are all as good if not better than the one you used to get your approved account

Once your adsense account is approved you can place the ads on all of your websites (if they are not against adsense TOS).

How private are adsense payments? I have a few sites running on my real adsense account. I want to try out a website which is not exactly "family-oriented". How risky is it in terms of privacy to use the same adsense for this site?

there is no limit, You can use 1 account with any number of websites.

You can add Adsense code in any of your sites without breaking the Adsense TOS.
