My friend had adsense enabled for his tech youtube videos (full partner with branding) and he was making about 500 dollars a month.
He was told he could make more money with Maker so he switched over and now he makes 50 dollars a month.
Is it because Maker forces you to enable all forms of monetization, (text overlay, skippable pre-roll ads) ect. where as with Adsense you can enable the 15 and 30 second preroll ads that you can't skip? I think that's where he was making more money.
    What do you guys think?

Do you think it's because of that ad format change?
Is it still possible to switch back and still be full partner with the unskippable ads option?

Switch back before it's too late. Try to navigate them also with links in description and sell extra things

no you are unable to switch back, read maker contract and you'd work for maker for 1-2 years

Everytime you think there is a network is better than AdSense, you are wrong.

Have them check their contract, they are probably locked in.

Partnership means now YouTube AND Taker Studios both get a cut. You could be right but I don't think that alone could cut the earnings to 10%. Maybe Taker isn't putting the right types of ads up or getting as much $$ as they could for his channel.

Have him contact his partner manager and see whats up.

Try to get back to adsense, and consider selling some related CB products in your description

He's unfortunately probably locked into the contract for at least 1 year. Everybody, before signing with a Network always make sure there is a clause that gives you an out if your CPM goes down. Hank Green just uploaded a good video about this topic here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGBXNm_mXeY
