Adsense - terrible ctr.... [reward][need help]

hello marketers, a month ago i opened a new viral website (thanks to bhw journeys section), but the real problem is adsense ctr..... i am currently getting 1000-2000 unique visitors every day, but i dont earn much becaause the ctr is just 0.20%..... i am targeting usa, new zealand, canada and uk.

anyone can help me to get a higher ctr? if it works, i will transfer you 10-20 usd. i just need to have a ctr of atleast 1%, i know people who uses same templates as mine and they are getting a stable ctr.

Two boxes side by side above the fold and under a bit of content. That's it. NO MORE anywhere on the page.

All tests I ever did showed default link colors outperformed everything else. Good luck.
 
i dont think the template is the main issue.... ive tryed 3 different viral themes, but nothing made my ctr go above 0.20%.

Here's what worked for me a couple of years ago:
Banner above article title
Text links in sidebar OR banner halfway through content.
Use rectangular banners, not square ones (728x90 I think)

It might also be worth checking your load time and bounce rate. Visitors might be leaving before the page even finishes loading.

It is bad, very bad. Average bounce rate is 50% and that is considered good.

To decrease bounce rate you can try splitting the article, or adding some cool sidebar widgets like trending and stuff like that. Sorry for the lack of ideas, I am really a slowpoke today.

Ummm, 5% are you sure? Your website is either really well optimizied or something is broken.
 
i buy facebook ads. but how can it affect adsense?
 
i know people who uses same templates as mine and they are getting a stable ctr

I don't see why it looks to you like impossible, but my average is below 5% ( usually around 4.7% ). The traffic to the site is social and probably targeted enough.
 
I had a 0.30% CTR at one point and this is what I did to get it up to 1.3%.
  • I added the maximum number of ads (mostly in-content, but this won't work as well for your video site).
  • I changed the ads from text to text and display.
  • I started using responsive ad units.
  • I changed the colour to the default one instead of the "colourful" version.
Keep in mind that I was split testing for weeks in order to find out what worked for my site. Some people get a better CTR with fewer ads while others find that responsive ads don't convert as well.

i use the maximum of 3 ads right now
i also use text and display ads
will see what i can do with responsive ads
ill do that as well

Just remember to try different things until you find something your audience responds well to. I was surprised when I found that my CTR went up with more ads as I had been told by multiple people that fewer ads would result in a higher CTR. Surprisingly, my bounce rate even remained the same when I increased the number of ads per page.
