Adsense Question

Hey guys,

I have a gaming website that ive started around 7 months ago. I have a couple of ads on it, because I want to make a little revenue for all the effort I made making this, but the amount I am making seems really low, I would like to know why is that.
I know ads placement is a thing, I don't have ads directly next to my navigation menu so I get less click on it but here are some of my stats in the past days.

Page Views: 2493
Impressions: 4806
Clicks: 2
Page RPM: 0.21$
Impression RPM: 0.11$
Active view viewable: 30.08%
Estimated Earnings: 0.49$

Ive looked around the internet to see how much 1k visitors should arroundly make, but everybody says it's not constant so it's hard to say. But from what I see right there, my estimated earnings seems pretty low. Am I just too hungry for money or there is something wrong there?
Also, we see that my click rate is really low compare to the impression I guess.

Hi!

My suggestion is to put pop-up ad on front page/whole page ad/Landing page with opt in.
You should have some affiliate products to sell(Amazon maybe). I don't know what kind of gaming site is it, but you can sell games, related stuff like t-shirts (fan products) or even Playstations etc.

Maybe even create own fan products(coffee cups and t-shirts) with cafepress or something similar.

You should look into your competition. There's plenty of them. See what they're doing better, how you could best them in the areas that they've left weak and vulnerable. Maybe check out some SEO, get a few backlinks. Create a twitter, Insta, FB. Grow them. You're working hard as it is. Turn the 2 hours of work into 6 hours of work, and the reward will also increase. With time, of course.

One reason is likely the ad placement. Google for "adsense heatmap" to see best placement for ads.

check also THEME . its very important on adsense ctr , also if you have more mobile then desktop etc ,ad placement on new theme can change a lot , but you must give time at least 10 days to see the differnce , so be patient

The gaming niche has relatively low competition. It would be better for you if you used affiliate systems in that gaming niche you are in as it will net you more earnings than adsense.

Wow, thanks for all your reply everyone. I will surely look into ads heat map.
Selling t-shirts ans things like that is a good idea for sure, but I am not sure if I would be able to do that right now. I have never sold anything like that before but I thinj that it need for example 20 sales before being able to sell the product ? Maybe not all sites are kike that thi I will have to look for it, nice idea

My site to be as legit as possible so i don't want to spam it with annoying stuff, but thats true that i could get a few more bucks from there.

to OP:zeelive ,

try to increase your traffic (with seo, promotions, viral, etc) to at least 10k a day and see the difference. coz afterall, that's the only thing lacking in your site

Alright thanks for the tips tele9!

I am actually looking for writers for my website to increase it's ranking on google. I don't know if I should pay some writers around the internet, or get a writer that is passionate about that particular game.

Ive try to get a passionate writer for the past month with no success. Is there any good place where I could get one or two of them ?

What about the countries your traffic is coming from? That makes a huge difference. If you are getting US traffic, your earnings will be higher while traffic from India for instance will get you very very little. The wealthier the country, the more people there pay for ads. Additionally, check your mobile earnings and ad placements because more than half of the traffic nowadays tends to come from mobile. If your ad units are in the sidebar and your theme is responsive, it's likely that your mobile users will not see the ads at all, because the sidebar would be placed below the content instead of next to it and they will simply not scroll down that far. Another things that has an impact on earnings is your traffic source. Google is able to monetize traffic coming from Google Search with a higher RPM than traffic coming from social media for instance simply because they can target the traffic they've referred much more effectively.

You will need to rearrange your ads placement. There are more information on that when you google...
To increase your RPM, your traffic should be coming from tier1 countries..

Hey, for the country part, I think I have some good traffic

For the desktop/mobile ratio, as we can see on the screen shot, most of the visitors are on desktop.

I have made some research about the heatspot and I will change my ad placement a little bit. Ive been able to see that the most clicked ads is the one right above the content, which I don't have atm.

Once I will have change the ads placement, I will look for some content in order to rank up in google and get more visitors from there. Do you guys have any opinion on where to get some good writers for specific niche ?
Waymore1980 recommended me iwriter, but I don't know if those website will make actually great content about a new game that came out lately. What do you guys think ?

Any ideas on where to get Gaming Writers ?

I know there is multiple website or the BHW Market place here, but I fell that those are just people who are using software to gather article around the internet and re-writing them.

I want some writers that could write with their own idea of the game and not gather informations from other website since my website is a source from this game, that contains info that no other website has.
