How does Google determine what ads to display?

The reason I am asking this question is I have a brand new site dedicated to the mesothelioma cancer niche and it's not displaying the high paying ads. How do I increase the cpc?

Let's say a famous celebrity tweeted a random site and visitors went to this brand new site, what high paying niche would be best for this to get "adsense clicks"?

Most of my traffic is coming from twitter and I'm getting around 0.5% CTR but my cpc right now is quite low compared to my payday loans niche.

make sure you get targeted traffic, so you can get the high cpc.
The idea is, targeted traffic >> crazy click >> high earning cpc.

what do you mean by targeted traffic? what is that exactly?

how about if the users come to my site directly?

"Targeted Traffic" is people who would potentially be interested in your niche or in what you are selling.

Targeted traffic is that people who will be more interested into your niche and website and from whom you can earn well.

previous browsing history should display relevant ads to your sites content

The key is the two things mentioned above. Targeted traffic will mean visitors who have a recent browser history searches and then you get ads related to the keyword you are after. The ad will be different for every visitor depending on recent search history.

I can tell you from 10 years experience done buy into the keyword tool hype. While it might say the average cost per click is $120 per click that number is so high because of very few advertiser and google will keep those high paying ads. I have had sites in almost every industry and the meso cancer sites do not pay all that well over the long term. Sure you get a few good clicks but it will average out around $.70 to $.80 a click and a lot of industry that have a average cost per click at like $5 to $7 pay better per click because they have so many advertisers.

nnahlee is right in fact , most of the ads that are beeing displayed is related to peoples browser history

Lol, you are going back to those days with such keywords. Honestly, build a good quality site on topics you are good at and build traffic to them before monetizing with adsense. You will earn more than going after mesothelioma.
