Adsense Niche Site to $$$/day -- Bluematter Tech

Hello All,

I'm going to be following bluematter's excellent and generous thread about building a $100/day Adsense site.


Currently:

I'm researching keywords and having difficulty.

Bluematter says the keyword must match most of these requirements:

1. High CPC
2. High Searches per month
3. Consistent searches through the year make sure its not a seasonal keyword.

OK I usually go for keywords where atleast 2 sites in top 10 does not have my exact match keyword in the title.

Atleast 2 domains are under 2 year old.

Atleast 3 sites with pr under 4.

After 4-5 hours of searching using various tools including the trial version of Long Tail Pro, I'm not able to find anything that hits all of the requirements. I do have 6 that are close contenders though. Following I will post their compliance with respect to bluematter's criteria, along with a couple other Longtail metrics.

I don't want to post actual infographics for obvious reasons, so I'll do my best to lay this out in a way that makes sense. Will any of these work?

Length: 4
CPC: $1.79
Monthly Local Searches (avg): 9,850
Seasonal/ Consistent: 6,000 - 14,000/ month
Sites in top 10 with exact match keyword: 5ish
At least 2 domains in top 10 are under 2 years old: There is one that's 1.3, two that are 2, and two that are 2.5.
At least 3 sites in top 10 with pr under 4: 3 comply, 6 have "No PR". Though I think that may be intentional.
Sites in top 10 with mozRank ≤ 4: 2
Sites in top 10 with domain authority ≤ 35: 4


Option B

Length: 3
CPC: $10.80
Monthly Local Searches (avg): 5,500
Seasonal/ Consistent: 2,500 - 8,100/ month
Sites in top 10 with exact match keyword: 2
At least 2 domains in top 10 are under 2 years old: There is one that's 1.8, the rest are between 4 - 18.
At least 3 sites in top 10 with pr under 4: 5 comply, 2 have "no PR".
Sites in top 10 with mozRank ≤ 4: 3
Sites in top 10 with domain authority ≤ 35: 2. The rest are 75+.


Option C

Length: 2
CPC: $2.41
Monthly Local Searches (avg): 73,000
Seasonal/ Consistent: 50,000 - 100,000/ month
Sites in top 10 with exact match keyword: 6ish
At least 2 domains in top 10 are under 2 years old: One that's 1.3, one 2.5.
At least 3 sites in top 10 with pr under 4: 4 comply, 4 "no PR".
Sites in top 10 with mozRank ≤ 4: 3
Sites in top 10 with domain authority ≤ 35: 2


Option D

Length: 2
CPC: $1.15
Monthly Local Searches (avg): 14,000
Seasonal/ Consistent: 9,500 - 18,000/ month
Sites in top 10 with exact match keyword: 8
At least 2 domains in top 10 are under 2 years old: One is 1 year old, the rest are 6 - 16.
At least 3 sites in top 10 with pr under 4: 7 comply, 2 have "No PR".
Sites in top 10 with mozRank ≤ 4: 5
Sites in top 10 with domain authority ≤ 35: 2


Option E

Length: 3
CPC: $1.00
Monthly Local Searches (avg): 10,000
Seasonal/ Consistent: 6,500 - 15,000/ month
Sites in top 10 with exact match keyword: 5ish
At least 2 domains in top 10 are under 2 years old: There is one that's 0.8, the rest are 6 - 18.
At least 3 sites in top 10 with pr under 4: 5 comply, 3 have "No PR".
Sites in top 10 with mozRank ≤ 4: 6
Sites in top 10 with domain authority ≤ 35: 2


Option F


Length: 3
CPC: $1.57
Monthly Local Searches (avg): 9,900
Seasonal/ Consistent: 6,500 - 12,000/ month
Sites in top 10 with exact match keyword: 6ish
At least 2 domains in top 10 are under 2 years old: One is 1.8, one is 5, then the rest are in the teens.
At least 3 sites in top 10 with pr under 4: 5 comply, 4 have "No PR".
Sites in top 10 with mozRank ≤ 4: 4
Sites in top 10 with domain authority ≤ 35: 0

I'd go with option B and E if you are new to SEO. High adwords competition isn't really relevant, it can only serve as an indication to do more research first.
Just remember that, as a rule of thumb, the longer it takes to rank a website, the longer the ranking sticks (although big G makes the weirdest jumps).

If I were you, I'd start up 2-3 sites and apply mostly the same (proven) methods found on this forum, have patience and work harder on the sites that get more traffic.
Just make sure you have months of patience ;-)

I would go for option C because there is high search volume and probably many secondary long tail keywords... Good Luck!

Thanks! Actually, Option A is a secondary long tail from Option C.

A little update:

Spoke with bluematter via skype (very nice guy) and he advised me that option C is a good way to go.

Unfortunately this weekend has been very hectic with my "survival work". I'm an actor, and bartend/cater for money. Weekend's are busy. Will make time to dedicate to implementing the next step in the next few days.
