Adsense Issue

I just bought a website and moved my adsense over to it. The trouble is the CPC is horribly low @ .10 per click. The site was getting much higher than that and google keyword tool also shows a much higher payout. Is this because of them being new adds ? The ctr is quite high also. Thx

Damn, I just checked it again this morning and the CPC is down to .05, that's horrible. My CTR is great too. I don't know why the CPC is so low. :(
 
yeah Its sometimes horrible. My site sometimes gets .01 for click and sometimes 1.9$ for 1 click.

Its rotation of ads I think.
 
Dont trust G`s keyword tool, its known for giving duds.
 
it depends on ads.
and on advertiser's placed bid., or cpc value ...

if you wanna disable low paying ads you can do that in adsense panel, i never done this, but i have seen there is option to c the advertisers list or something. imho
 
well it just depends from where are you getting the clicks.. if it'll from US/CAN you'll be getting somewhat around 1$ per click :)
 
I just checked again and it's up to .23 cpc now.
 
Best to create websites for niches that pay well. The sites I build... if I know it will be less than $1/CPC... I pass.
 
There is no sure fire way to guarantee $1 CPC though. But there is a greater chance to hit $1+ CPC if you're in a high paying niche.
 
Look hard at your content. Google ads are geared somewhat toward your content and to some extent on the viewers past search history.

Use the keyword tool to find longtail keywords and place posts/articles about said KW's that have a higher CPC. Adsense will most likely pick these up and show ads relevant to your content.

Do not expect the ads to change instantly as that wont happen. I think Adsense is dependent on G's latest crawl for ad info. Well at any rate that is my theory. :)

Another thing you can do is delete content that has lower paying KW's in it. This is risky however with a site that is weak on content so tread lightly there.

The Google KW tool says my keywords are between .80 and $1 cpc and those keyword searches are where I get my traffic. However the actual CPC is many times less than it lists.

You have to take into account goggle's cut of the click value, which it's around 32% I think..
 
Yeah it fluctiuats quite a bit. I remember being at $.01 and then up to nearly $2. And yes, it's a great idea to do a niche site that gets a lot of traffic. :)
 
Hi, like everybody said dont trust Google kw tool, you will only recieve a fraction of what advertisers pay, dont worry about that and just work on getting more traffic to your site, having a high ctr and lots of traffic compensates the low cpc.
 
Ok, ok....

Let's think like an AdWords advertiser here for a moment. Look at Adwords ads. The advertiser has only a couple of sentences to draw you in with. Those couple of sentences can make or break a publishers CPC.

Suppose for arguments sake you have a website about "Pink Poodle Purses". It's a nice site with content, graphics, photos, etc. And... you have Adsense on it. Your getting some decent traffic and all is well in the world. Your choosen KW's in your articles show a good CPC so you expect some bank right?

Well yes and no. If the advertiser can't draw in clicks with his 1-2 sentences that show in the ads then your both SOL.

Many times the advertiser is to blame and not your site and/or content. So how to correct that?

If you really want to work your site than you can filter the ads on Adsense. It's tedious and time consuming but doable. Question is you have to ask yourself if it's time well spent.
 
If you've ever used adwords before then you would know the CPC in the keyword tool relates to that of the ads being displayed on the google search, not the content network.

The content network is your adsense site and everyone elses adsense sites. It is a common rule in adwords practice to pay much less for content CPC compared to search CPC.

I remember running campaigns paying $1.50 to $3 CPC on adwords search, and then I would set my max bid to 0.05 and 0.10 CPC for the content network.
 
i got a site for exact match with $30 CPC, i get 0,5 on clicks T_T
