Adsense Code Placement

Hi BHW,

When putting Adsense code to my wordpress blog, I usually use auto ads and/or plugins (ad inserter). No problems so far, but lately I want to try a new 'post layout' and I think it will work better if I can place the ads code manually on each post.

My question is, can I directly paste the adsense code inside the post. I never try it before since, to be honest, I never think about it.

I use classic editor so the code in 'text mode' inside the classic editor will be something like this:

<p>image</p>
<p>paragraph 1</p>
<p>paragraph 2</p>
<p>adsense code</p>
<p>paragraph 3</p>
<p>paragraph 4</p>
<p>adsense code</p>
<p>paragraph 5</p>

Adsense code will be the same, the same code that is usually used on ad inserter plugins, responsive ad unit.
Can I place the code manually inside the post like that?

you dont need to put the code many times 1 time is enouph i think

Yes, you can place the static add wherever you want using that method, for example

You need to add the header script (or footer) as you already did, and then place the code for the static ad. Some plugins in WP let you add a shortcode which makes this simpler.

My recommendation, if you really feel it's worth for some reason, install a heatmap sensor like Clarity to check the behaviour of your users. Otherwise, you might end setting it worse than the autoads do themselves (Autoads have some sort of learning process that actually learn to set the ads in the best places).

Thanks, so basically it is allowed to place the code manually like that.

My experience (on 1 site) with 100% autoads is not that great, low ctr. But maybe because due to the low traffics it gets.

Advanced Ads hands down

advanced ads is pretty fine and You can check google if You want it totally manual.

You can use Ad Inserter plugin. It's easy to use. I think adsense has an option for testing different layouts and then choose the best one based on revenue earned.
