AdSense code not found

Hi all so for a client site I put up AdSense code as it is from AdSense for verification. I put them in the header but, AdSense keeps on saying code not found.

I even tried placing <head> code <\head> yet it didn't work. I didn't wish to apply before they could find the code. Any one can help?

If I get your question correctly, your account hasn't been activated to display AdSense ads yet. Here are what to do:

Go to Make Money Online through Website Monetization and sign up if you haven't.
Provide the URL you wish to display ads on.
Then you'll be promoted to fill address information, after completely filling it, an adcode will be provided.
Place the ad code in the header part of your site and wait for Google to review.
In case you can't find the code. Click Get Code Again then the ad code will be displayed. If that doesn't work, then your account is a hosted account.

Download the plugin quick adsense. Then go to header and footer tab. Place the code in the header space and click save. Adsense should be able to find the code. That is what I use.
