Google does not have to be so smart to catch adsense fraud, what any potential fraudsters have against them is statistics.
If everybody coming to your site is going to spend 15-20 seconds then click on an ad you have a problem. If you are going to have 100s of visitors open you page in an iframe and not click ads you have a problem.
Google has millions of sites under its nose through adsense and analytics, so most abnormal activity will float to the top. You may get away with it in the short term but you will almost always float to the top.
If you are trying to cheat adsense, you are essentially fighting against a mathematical model you have little information about. The company doesn't have to break a finger to catch you. All they have to do is label/set the model which they have all the data to(you do not) and ban all those who cross into the red.
