I had the exact same thing happening on a niche site of mine. Ad placement is essential, you'll be able to tell just by playing around with it and watching your stats change dramatically.

Setup Analytics on your site too.

Here's what I would do... try multiple site layouts, and multiple ad placements. Split your traffic and AB test it, and follow the stats closely.

Once you find a layout / ad placement, throw 100% of the traffic there.

80 Uniques is nothing though, try to increase your ranking for whatever keywords your using.

If you're getting several thousand impressions you could look into cheating it because the CTR wouldn't be too high.

Adsense on forums don't have a great CTR. Try adding a large rectangle after posts for people who are not logged in. Other than that play around with the ads and blend them in!

Forums are never big money makers for Adsense,

Only on the log in pages...

You need to get 1) sponsors 2) Private ad sales 3) CPM sales.

Also target a weekly or monthly newsletter to the forum and have SPA offers related to the niche of the forum.

IMO try changing the adsense ads location in your site. It will definitely provide you higher CTC.
