Adsense and Wordpress

Hello all,

A very noob question but I seem to be going mental with this issue - I've gotten approved for adsense, but just can't post any ad to my Wordpress site.

When I post the ad code to the sidebar - it just doesnt show at all.

And if I stick the code into the new post - all it does is showing a yellow rectangle.

Help! What am I doing wrong?

My adsense account seems to be all ok - no warning messages etc.

There are 2 verification steps. Did you got approved through both of them?
 
I did get approved through my Youtube account.

I received the following email: subj: "Your Google AdSense account has been fully activated"
text:
Your Google AdSense application has been approved. You'll soon begin to see relevant Google ads appear on http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwij9E7KF-GAjcNDCDNRvsQ.
Please note:
Your AdSense account only allows you to monetize the content that you create on AdSense host partner sites.
To track the performance of your new Google ads and access more AdSense features...
....


So I presume that the account is fully activated.

At least I was able to get the ad code ok - without any warnings along the way...
 
Just googled the 2 step verification process for Adsense.

Well... it all seems sooo obscure... They never sent me an email or a note saying that there is a second step.

Anyway - I've posted this yellow rectangle thing to my blog - now I guess I should wait for them to 'scan my site'.

Does anyone know how long that usually takes to get fully approved from this point?
 
Its usually pretty quick, took around 3 days for me. They let you know via email whether they approved your site or not
 
Its better for you to wait 72 - 96 hours, it was happen to me and after 3 - 4 days its working fine, moreover you can check it on other computer sometimes you feel a cache issue!

The youtube method grants you a hosted account, meaning you can display ads on properties owned by them (youtube,blogspot). You cannot use ads on your own websites. Are you trying to display ads on a blogspot blog or own website?
 
You can only use your adsense account on adsense host partner sites. It is mentioned there. You can not use them on your site.
 
I think, OP you're looking to display ads on your own site.. As lord1027 said you can use that only in youtube, blogspot and so..
