Adsense: A journey to $20 dollars a day

Hello, I'm a undergraduate college student majoring in Electrical Engineering student.

I will do this with minimal time spent but over the course of months, I've tried IM for years when I was younger since I was a freshman in high school with no decent earnings (making a few dollars, just enough to pay hosting fees.)

Well, I figured I'd do this during my free time (which I have very little of if I want to maintain decent grades)

I'm starting this thread to remind me of my journey.

Hopefully I'm able to identify with other IMers who have little time on there hands.

Goal:
20 a day, stable. Keep this even if I can't update the sites frequently.

Method:
Old fashioned internet marketing, adsense, CPA.

I'd appreciate help and advice, I have a general understanding of IM due to my prior exposure but I want something that will last and isn't a one time deal.

What did you do today?

You can use the experience of people here if they see you're a hard working man. Post here daily with the things you've done today and your plan for tomorrow and the rest of the week. Show progress, share your doubts with us, the happy moments when you make a sale (or a click) and document the frustrating days, they will come. That's the only way to get the forums' attention and get tips from people who knows their shit.

A tip from someone who's veteran can easily help you double your income within days. But you'll only get those when you deserve it.

Unless you do that - there's no point in posting here for "motivation". Better spend this time working and your motivation will come when the adsense graph climbs.

My 2 cents. Hope I wasn't too harsh. Think of what I said, work hard and you'll reap the rewards. I giggle every time I see people post here with a goal of making $20 a day - that's a joke, go big or go home. If you can make 20 you can make 200. Take my word, or don't...

Thanks for this post, quite right. The reason I aim for $20 a day is because I'm trying to stray away from the make big money mentality, instead of focusing on the money I want to focus on developing a method, something robust, that I can scale with multiple websites if I realize I can handle it.

I have found my self pouring hours into a gimmicky method that seemed guaranteed, only to find that these hours produce very little reward. So here I am, trying to make my own. I appreciate your words. I will document this a bit more thoroughly.

There is no such thing as stable $20. You either get more or less depending on fluctuations due to various factors. My average is 17 but i also often see 33 and 14. The way to earn like me or better is to make sure you don't autoblog and play by the rules, and also you gotta have a minimum of 2000 visitors daily from the prospering countries like usa canada and europe like i do. Heck even south africa is good. Make sure you dont blackhat stuff like unnatural link building. My backlinks are from social networks and other sites that people freely shared on according to their own will. My pagerank is 3 and thanks to that i get my traffic from google mostly. Before being pr 3 i was getting only 60 visitors a day but i now see way way more. I also write daily due to free time. Make sure u write and publish. Avoid mass content generation as Google will know that is unnatural due to the rate of publishing mass stuff which humans cant possibly do. I've attached my adsense panel and blacked out a couple things that may violate adsense tos for me sharing with you. I have noticed about 50% increase in earnings when I made text ad color red and ad text black. My site is mostly blue so I guess the red really stands out and stops people. If you notice revenue optimization is just 1 notch and not fully optimized because I use mainy text ads which ironically earn me way more than image ads. If I make all ads images and satisfy the optimization requirement, I will see decreased earnings. I only keep top ad an image/text and everything else is text.

A final word of advice, just don't believe that having lots of adsense sites up will earn you more. People think that if they put up tons of sites and put adsense codes in it, they will get traffic. They won't get traffic because if they are new they won't rank well in search engines. All you need is 1 high pr adsense site to earn similar to what I earn and more. I also see earnings coming from weird places like Google cache itself and facebook which loads my site in an iframe I believe. You need lots of pages in 1 site to earn and not lots of sites.
btw, I started my site in July of this year, so count from July until now ad see how fast I am already earning, and you can imagine what the next few months and the future will be like for me. Also forgot to mention that it is advisable to keep your site clear and clean, I wouldn't even bother with sidebars and things that may attract attention away from your center ad content. My site is straight vertically down, no sidebars just pure content. I have even done a test on this to prove that getting rid of a sidebar or other distractions from center content yields more earnings by removing the sidebar and comparing

I never knew black hat link building can affect your Adsense account. What do others say? Is that true?
