WARNING ! I'M RAMBLING INCOHERENTLY IN THIS POST

I've been using Premiere for a very long time so I'm naturally more inclined to recommend it.

However, I've also been using DaVinci and it's really nice and stable. (Premiere can be buggy.. especially when you go to export)

I recently acquired some videos that were scaled up. Nothing was done to increase the resolution, they were just 'made bigger.'

So, the videos are really poor quality. AI wasn't able to adequately fix the problem and I'm guessing it's because there's too much 'damage'

I started trying to fix a video with Premiere and nothing I tried seem to fix it.

My DaVinci suite has certain effects that I can add. One of them is to give video a 35mm film look and it's definitely an improvement.

In conclusion:
To me Premiere is an old 20th century standby. DaVinci seems to be more robust. (Or at least it is out of the box.. so to speak)

It heavily depends on what your goal is - premiere is a workhorse - easy to operate and makes simple editing a quick process, davinci is much more sophisticated and aimed at a higher end production, color grading, tracking, etc.
 
I am also using Davinci recently and its working fine and its free
 
Premiere is pretty good for what it does. But it does cost money per month.

Btw, did you know? Blender also has a built in video editor which can do a lot of things. Best part, it is free.

Try it out as well.
 
I'll just add that davinci resolve is created by blackmagic company that manufactures the highest quality movie production equipment, so it's safe to say they know a thing or two about video and audio.
In my opinion davinci is very easy to get started, everything is in one place instead of 5 programs, and their free tier is more than enough to create youtube videos, the cool part is that you can actually do really high-quality stuff with it once you get better.

What's the difference between paid free versions?
 
If you're in it for the long haul, then learn premiere pro. Or davinci does the job as well.
 
Another thing about davinci for those wondering, in comparison to adobes 200$~/year price, davinci is 300$ lifetime ;)

Afaik, free version has output resolution limited to Full HD..

I believe in paying for what you use.

But my personal opinion is that any company which does NOT want their software pirated should make it available at a reasonable price or have 2 different versions, one professional and one for the public.

Absolutely.
Most of what I (we) do is porn. So, it's just splicing scenes together and Premiere is fast and easy. But for my work, the writing is on the wall for Adobe and it's on its way out. It's been at least 5 years Premiere has had an annoying intermittent glitch which prevents exporting and the yearly fee is getting a bit much.
 
Both of them are fantastic software premier is easy to use and da vinci is complicated when you expert nothing is complicated.its just my opinion
 
I use Davinci. I think, this tool are very easy to use and better result. if you want try it
 
If you don't wanna pay than davinci resolve but if you have money than get adobe premiere pro and if you get after effects aswell than it will be very great because you can use premiere pro for small tasks and after effects for the bigger ones and the other good thing is that they can connect dynamicly. (My personal preference is Premiere Pro and After Effects)
