Adobe illustrator vs Canva

Canva is good for ease of use, but I think you need to know Adobe to be professional.

For me, Illustrator has always been a great choice, and my friends are using it too.

Adobe illustrator is comprehensive and professional software used by the professional designers. Adobe illustrator is vector based software besides this there is no comparison between canva and illustrator. If you just want to create social media posts and flayer, banner designs then canva is solid option for you. It is very easy to use and ready made templates also available on canva which makes your work quicker and easy.

Don’t compare Illustrator with canva, they are different things.

Compare Illustrator with inkscape. IMHO inkscape is better (and it is opensource) than illustrator in lots of ways. Try it.
InDesign and Canva would be a good comparison, otherwise Gogol's hit the nail on the head

Wow this post is ancient

Mate with plenty years of expertise..
if you don’t want to go into professional graphic design you can use Canva + affinity (software by Canva linked together with Canva as well)

Want to go in depth, learn AI and PS they work together with adobe bridge.. plus when you re able to master keyboard shortcuts saves time.. another faster underrated approach is Corel draw.. ( Crazy simplified things once mastered) Enjoy designing

If you are running client campaigns or doing affiliate stuff, speed is everything. illustrator is great for actual design work like logos, but for daily social posts and flyers, it just takes too long.

The real cheat code with canva is the bulk create tool. You can hook it up to a csv and generate dozens of social images in like two minutes. Doing that in illustrator is a pain. Keep illustrator for the heavy lifting and use canva to scale the actual output.

This would be a good app to try out if your focus is flyers and social media graphics. The AI functions and templates will make your life easier in many ways.
However, I recommend continuing to learn about the more advanced AI tools. Canva seems to me to be more like a rapid creation platform.
