My system currently runs with Intel i5, 512ssd, 8gb RAM and a GE Force GT 730 graphics card

Any one of these I ought to upgrade first as a priority so I can rid the slow rendering and editing lag I currently experience? I also use Blender, Photoshop and Illustrator and I do ok. However, when I switch to After Effects, its a totally different lag altogether

you must upgrade your ram minimun of 16 upto 32gb so it will run smoothly as it is..

Was gonna say to switch your settings to GPU acceleration but your CPU is actually better than your GPU.
