Adobe After Effects Intro

I want an intro for my website. I found few on a website but they have a high price tag for me. The intros are designed with Adobe After Effects CS4 and the plugins required are: Sure Target 2, Trapcode 3D Stroke, and are displayed in full HD. I have few questions for the experts:

1) Can such an intro be copied and personalised? How much would me cost such a personalised copy of it?
2) Can such an intro be viewed on any computer screen / web browser? Shoud it be at a lower resolution in order to be compatible with any computer / web browser?
3) Does it have a negative effect on the SEO of the website?
4) The template of the website must be designed in a specific programing language, in order to be compatible with the intro, or not?

1) If the website has a copyright then you shouldn't steal the work. Be creative, but if you cannot be creative make something similar, not an exact copy.

2) Overall, it can be viewed on any browser capable of using flash, that's is used most of the time for this, to date. You can find javascript that will change what is displayed depending on the users resolution.

3) I'm not getting into that, go ask in the SEO section and prepare to get mixed comments.

4) This is confusing. Basically what usually happens with this type of intro is:

-Designer designs intro in After Effects
-Designer saves the clip as an .flv
-Designer imports the .flv into flash and creates a .swf
-.swf is embedded and put on your index page for an intro

This results in the intro made in AE being played on your site. There are ways of doing this without using flash but I'm not getting into that.

Have you tried using video hives for intro? They are inexpensive and come with easy tutorials.

You've already got all the answers you need but I'd like to add some thoughts here

- You shouldn't pay more than 40$ for an intro template. Most of them will be a lot under 20$ but some of them have lots of pre-rendered 3d footage so they are more expensive.
- If you buy a template that uses plugins, make sure that there is also a pre-rendered version so you don't have to own the plugins to be able to use the template.
- Read the description carefully to see if the audio is included or not. Sometimes people use copyrighted audio in preview videos and when you buy the template, there's no audio and you are facing a problem.
- There are sites like Videohive, Revostock, Digital Juice, Drop Drop and Max After that sell great quality templates with reasonable prices.

intro template can cost a lot i saw a lot of people that charge more then $40 for lame videos. If you have adobe after effect the best way as you were told above is to buy completed intro and just change that. If you don't know how to use after effect keep in mind that it will be hard for you to edit it.

arent you afraid GG wont rank your site well due to the flash intro?

Ive noticed all sites using too much flash dont rank well in serps

To be honest cost depend upon the quality of work. I'll suggest you to hire any good professional and discuss the price with him.

Yes, you can save the intro as swf or any of the video format. But you need flash player for both of the format and to run on the website.

Nope it will not, but make sure rest of the website is in HTML or SEO optimized.
