Adfly and YouTube?

I have made a new channel where I will promote amateur music producer's music with their permission (so I won't breach copyright etc). However what would be the best way to monetize these videos?

I heard of other people using Adfly links in the description of videos to generate some money but I heard that this is against YouTube terms of service and you can get your videos taken down...how true is this?

Also, if this is the case, what other methods of monetization would work?
