Short and simple: I don't live in the US, and my address might look like some third world mud hut to recepients. Does the US No Spam law even apply for me? Surely someone must have stumbled upon the same problem. People will think me a nigerian scam prince if I enter my real address. How do I bypass this?

Hello RangerWalker,

The US "CAN-SPAM" Act has already been validated internationally, if you read the Wikipedia article about the act someone from Morocco was issued with a warrant for arrest and tried / found-guilty in his absence. So I heartily recommend following the CAN-SPAM guidelines wherever possible. If you are worried about the appearance of your address, you can legally use a P.O. Box or mail-forwarding service as your address in Aweber and most other services.

If you want reassurance of that check this link from the Federal Trade Commission site: http://business.ftc.gov/documents/bus61-can-spam-act-compliance-guide-business

4. Tell recipients where you're located. Your message must include your valid physical postal address. This can be your current street address, a post office box you've registered with the U.S. Postal Service, or a private mailbox you've registered with a commercial mail receiving agency established under Postal Service regulations.

There are loads of mail-forwarding services you can register for, most of them will forward mail internationally. So your emails can have a US P.O. Box address, and you will even receive mail sent to it - which is all you need to do to satisfy CAN-SPAM and Aweber.

Good luck!
