    1. Who have you used who do good manual backlink services?

I have used a few from here to keep it varied, but would be keen to know who's hot right now?

    2. If I am third in Google for a keyword that is not in my title, and the competitor is first WITH the keyword in the title. Can I be second? Beating Wikipedia?

    3. How often and how many links would you build each time say each month in batches so that you look organic and still get the results?

Just answer for the second question.

You can even rank 1st if the keyword is nowhere to be found on your site.

Surely there is... 100 a month 200 a month what? Surely any more than 100-200 a month does not look natural right?

the only ones who can answer "what looks natural" is Google. Thats a fact. anything else is just a wild guess based on next to nothing... unless you've somehow figured out how to crawl and cache over 1 trillion urls and then track the linking behaviors over a span of time.

how many men/women walk in and out of a building each day?

You have an office building. X number of people walk in around 8am. X walk in through the day. X walk out for 1 hr during lunch and come back in, X walk out at 5pm.

What is the natural number of men and women to be walking in and out each day? You can't possibly answer that question without knowing everything... what is in the building? How much space is in use/occupied and by who, how big the organizations are, who they are, what they do etc etc etc. ... Is it a school? planned parenthood? a church, an abortion clinic? The national recruiting headquarters for the Marines? Is it a the home of a summer softball league and vacant all winter? You can't even begin to know the answer without a lot of information on that specific building, its tenants and so on. This is no different than a website. Attempting to determine what looks "natural" in terms of linking for a given site, would be the result of some very complex and comprehensive data analysis comparing countless sites and linking behavior.

Anyone that says they have some faint idea of "what looks natural" is completely high. You can take a guess at what you might think is "safe", what might avoid tripping filters and then throttle your efforts and ramp them up as you build the total volume of inbound links... but there is NOTHING "natural" about it and you will never know what "looks natural".

This isn't a rant aimed at you... i just get tired of all the idiots online (again, not you) talking about why they do xyz because it "looks more natural".

A very interesting and valid arguement.

Whilst I agree there are "some" rules - certainly in places like this we have all learned certain things NOT to do. And this by trial and error. So sure there is no rule of thumb... but even the book by David Viney I am sure speaks of "natural" - The term "natural" just is a short way of saying...

How can I F my competition without getting swooped off the map altogether, which, to be fair, is the whole point of this forum... no?
