Adding a Wikipedia page for my company

One of my competitors has a Wikipedia page on their company on simple.wikipedia.org.

I tried to create a page for my company following exactly the same format as my competitor, but it was immediately removed for "obvious advertising"

The content was more discreet in terms of advertising than my competitors... I didn't even add my website link initially!

Is there a special technique to get Wikipedia pages to stick?

If you contribute more for user's content, there is a greater chance of getting published.
Also, it is purely of Google's discretion whether or not to approve the page.

@dragonlube Google doesn't decide what is posted to wikipedia, bunch of editors are regulating it.

It is achievable if your company is well-known; otherwise, this would not work. You should initially try to familiarise yourself with your company before reapplying if that is possible.

Just get more well known, or try to provide value to the reader that isn't already on Wikipedia.
