Adding a follower question - Is this possible...

So a few times on different social media platforms i've noticed that suddenly i'm following the most random person, page or group.

I've just gone onto my Iinstagram and seen that i'm following someone who i don't have a clue who they are. The only thing i can think of is they had a different profile to generate followers, once achieved then deleted all of the pictures, changed the name and uploaded their own pictures..

Alternatively, is anyone aware of an app which can make people secretly follow you? Any platform is fine but ideally Instagram or Facebook.
