Add LSI keyword article in main or as supporting

If my main article is on " Best Chair for Old men" and is ranking on 12 position, for example. Its length is smaller than the articles ranking on top-3.

I have one more easy related LSI keyword like "Rent Chair for old men" with 2000 words content I want to rank for.

Should I add this new article in the already ranking article which would also increase its length or add this as supporting article?

It seems topics are different. "Rent" and "Buy". So there will be a confusion for the search engine to understand what is the actual topic of the page if merged.
When it's not clear about the main topic of the page, Search engine keeps away the site from the first page.

So, there is a high chance to drop ranking. My suggestion, don't merge pages. Try to improve more information on each page which are exactly relevant.

it will also create confusion for visitor as well so new will be good option

Instead of changing the current article it'll be good to add a new article with LSI keywords and it'l improve overall site rankings on search engines.

Add another article which contain LSI as supporting article & interlink those articles so it will pass juice to inner pages.

Look for LSI keywords and use them as your secondary keywords. You would want to establish clarity, so the Google won't be confused.
