Hey guys, recently purchased some twitter followers off ebay from chinamanyesiam.

Offers to add 1000, 5000, 10,000 followers (same day) to your account without a password.

Sounds awesome, and it worked. Had 1000 within an hour.

Got a couple of messages from users asking me "how am I miraculously following you?"

Does anyone know what software/program was used for this?

Searched through previous posts trying to find out with no success.

Hope your all having a great night!

Dade

Phished accounts. Be careful with that. :squint:

There are a lot of dumbfucks(tm) out there that fall for phishing scams to get FB passwords. If you are found benefiting from these accounts, badshit(tm) can fall upon you very quickly.

Somehow I don't think these are phished accounts. I'm thinking someone has built some software that will automatically add followers to any account. Nobody has heard of this yet? I checked his account and he has 80k followers...

Would be a nice piece of software to have.

If people are contacting you asking how they are following you, they are phished accounts so don't kid yourself. There is no software that forces people to follow you. The only other thing it could be is accounts from people who join those train sites, because they usually give up their username and pass to join.

I like the "magical software" idea better... :)

But I guess if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Cheers.

No offense but it sounds like a fluke to me. I would say that it is probably phished, this guy is in a ship that is sinking so fast, it should be a submarine. If you use and abuse those lists, you will be taking on water before you know it.

Beware and build your own followers with real posts and efforts that they want to REALLY FOLLOW...there's a thought.

All joking aside, get into gear and build your own links. Don't steal them and have these people bust you once they get communications from you and the red flags go off. Save yourself the drama.

Well, unless they unfollow me, (which granted about 30% did) I wont know which were his additions as I had several thousand already. I was used to the people offering followers using the follow/unfollow method, but liked the sound of this one as I didn't have to give my password. Oh well, live and learn. It's been over a week now, and I was going to pick up another batch from him, but not at the expense of losing my account.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Is there any chance it is an XSS exploit? Ya know, user visits a page, XSS is ran, they are made to automatically follow you.

Its not unheard of...hell, it happened with Digg a few months back.
