I see that a free-tier account can only send max 3 "add a note" while connecting. Is this for real?

Yes — but “max 3” isn’t a fixed official number. The reality is a bit different

Free users on LinkedIn do have a limit on “Add a note” invites, but it varies.
Officially, LinkedIn says you can only personalize a very small number of invites per month (around 3–5) (LinkedIn).
In many cases, users report ranges like 5–10/month depending on account trust & activity (help.dripify.io).
After hitting the limit, you can still send requests—just without a note.
If you need unlimited notes, you’ll have to upgrade to Premium.v

Yes, it looks like LinkedIn has started limiting the “add a note” feature for free accounts. For now, you can focus on sending a connection first, then follow up with a personalized message after they accept. It's likely part of their push toward premium plans.

Yes, that’s true on the free tier.

But don’t worry just send the connection request without a note when you run out of them. Once they accept, you can start the conversation normally in the messages and build the relationship from there.
