Adblock Killing Potential Clicks

Built a site and loaded it with adult banners and was wondering how I can stop Adblock plugin from hiding my ads.

Got a couple of friends to load it on their computer and the ads are hidden as they have the plugin which so do millions of other web users.

Is is there any JavaScript or anything I can add that prevents Adblock from attacking my ads or encourage the user into disabling it.

Most traffic is from social media so don't want hit and run scenarios without them seeing the ads.

I never seen a website stop my adblocker from working. I dont know if its possible.
 
For YouTubers they usually address the issue and offer quality for people to turn off their ad block and support them. If you are doing scrapped content, or low quality content reposts, then don't expect them to turn off Adblock anytime soon to support you. It's also effective to place displays that pop up when ad block is anabled telling them things like "Your stealing money from me! Turn your adblock off!"
 
You can stop them from accessing your website until they turn it off.

I have come across major sites that do this. If I remember correctly cbs prevents you from watching shows if you have adblobk on. They prompt you to turn it off before allowing you watch whatever you trying to watch
 
I change the size on my ads for example a 468x60 banner would be something random like 473x57 not sure if that still works it did last time i tested.
 
It's a major money issue, OP. You can do nothing about it, seemingly unless you're running an authority site people cannot afford to miss.
 
I have seen three sites get around this.

One site wouldnt allow flash video to load properly until adblock was removed

Another site still somehow gets popups through adblocker

so it is possible
 
It's a major issue OP, we all have to experience this at some time being a marketer..

But I have seen many sites where just a popup showing on screen to disable adblock in order to access their sites. Not sure how it is done tho..

a redirect script that notifies user to disabled adblock when visiting your website or add it on whitelist
 
it's a lot more sympathetic to ask your visitors to consider to turn it off than outright disabling their access to the content, unless you own a real authority site, so people would die to see the content no matter what

try to monetize your site by other means which is not just ads, which can be blocked with an ad blocker
 
believe me there is many ways to avoid it .I know at less fife way . if you do proper search and know basics of CSS3 you find it easy even adblock author can't stop it .
the only issue is with filters targeting ads server like G Adsense etc you cant force ppl to load it until they turn it off.
Las it up to the user and his culture and understanding .

Even if it is possible...are you sure that you'll have some good results by avoiding AdBlock? As for me it's a waste of time and negative affect on users.
 
just identify if the adblock is on, then u have 2 options:
1. if yes, redirect them directly to the affiliate brand
2. if yes, display a static image instead, later wrap it with a link.
 
On some porn sites; a pop up window opens up when it tracks adblock, saying "adblock is effecting some of the important features of our site; turn it off for better experience" or something like that!

You can do that too..... :)

Truth has been spoken! One of the reasons scammy CPA offers, unuseful clickbank products and other shady stuff are promoted more and more. There would be less reason to do this without the existence of AdBlock.
Don't get me wrong, I understand that it was necessary because of exploits (unexperienced users), multiple popups etc but its going too far now. Also a lot of the aggressive advertising originated from more people using AdBlocker to make the same amount of money.

One more thing:
I will never understand that people HERE, that call themselves InternetMarketers are using AdBlock on a regular basis. How can you understand new ways of advertsing or ad-formats, products, methods etc if you don't see them?
17 years online, never used AdBlock, still never had a Virus, Malware etc
