Adam D @ Maxbounty

Ok I have had a long conversation with the CEO of Maxbounty JP Sauve.

Need I add that Adam D was infact my account manager before all these stories went flying around, a good honest and open guy, which is very hard to believe this accusation but here are the facts.

Adam was charged with Posssession of Child Pornography (it's the possession that's the crime.), and still claims innocent, which is reasonable, i have known a few people online who have been charged for the same offence, and one was a 58 year old woman who never used the computer in 2months, but she left it on standby. (Could have been virus, rootkit or something which, could be possible in this situtation)

You recieved an email (if your a Maxbounty affiliate) saying Adam was taking a break or on holiday, because He had told management he was taking time of for stress.

He never told Maxbounty what was going on, they only found out about the charges and anything related when they read it in the Newspapers, which is why they emailed saying he was on holiday, is because thats what Maxbounty was told.

After reading the newspaper story ofcourse it was a shock to all the staff at Maxbounty, then this is when Adam admitted to them it was him who was charged.

Now if one of your family members got charged for something they claim to be innocent how would you feel?

Now im not personally saying at this time he is innocent, time will sure tell, but all these messages saying totally bad things is really going against facts, i believe the old saying innocent until proven guilty, if that happens so be it you can say what you like then.

Personally I dont think anyone should be posting things slamming Maxbounty as they had no idea until they read it in the news.

Speaking to Mr Sauve his exact words when i asked was he fired was?
"It was mutually decided he best not represent the company while charges are in place and while he attempts to defend his innocence. Company stance is that we were surprised by the charges, we simply had no idea. While none of us here can see him being guilty, the honest truth is that none of us know the truth and a court of law will decide."

Now what could be the possible reasons for him getting accused?

Let me brainstorm, possible reasons if he was guilty could be :

1. Someone has infected him with some sort of trojan based uploader, ftp server and done this in badness to in simple terms F**K him over, i have heard rumors that an affiliate who never got payed for bad reasons did this and then reported him
2. He was surfing possible adult porn sites, and following on through TGPs and ending up lost in a world of popups and ending up in some malicious website, i have been a victim of this in the past, when you click somewhere you seem looks legit, its a front to a whole bad world even know i usually report them sites straight of if i ever come across them
3. I have once in my life recieved a spam email, you know the type "SL4ZY A$IAN $SLUuTZ" in the subject and out of curiosity i always click to see what is being promoted and atleast once in my life has been some sort of child porn in those emails (YES I NEVER ASKED FOR THIS JUNK EMAIL)
4. P2P file sharing, we have all been on Limewire, and downloaded something we never asked for that was renamed.
5. Open Wireless router? I believe he lives near a lot of people and ranges these days can go far, this would include wardriving
6. Hundreds of other legitimate reasons.

So lets leave it at that until hes proven innocent or guilty, and If he is Innocent in which i believe (at least i hope to believe) if you see him after you should give him some respect, someones life could be fucked over here just for someone messing with him, or some mistake.

I dont want posts here as a reply saying "FUCK HIM" or whatever, imagine it as one of "our" own, we all know how the web can fly and land you in a wrong turn when you least expect it. Only serious replies guys and remember facts are facts and right now he is innocent until proven guilty.

And as an ending known imagine if you owned a business and one of your employees landing you in this situation that you where unaware of until you read the local paper.
Nobody should blame or tag it along with this guys name and accusation as its unfair, it would be like if we had something go wrong here on Blackhatworld by one user, would you hate the forum? NO I thought not.

So We will leave it as that.

It would suck to be accused for something like that and not be guilty....

I've talked to Adam many times and I liked the guy personally...he was very helpful. The problem with that theory is that they found DVDs. That's got nothing to do with trojans.

I think everyones getting misled by the talented reporters way of saying things.

"Police say they recovered a computer and various CDs and DVDs."
Ofcourse if you get an accusation like this they will recover anything that could contain evidence does not infact mean theres anything on them.

If you or anyone got arrested for the same crime, they would take all your CDS and DVDS to inspect them, doesnt mean theres anything on them, its what they have to do.

Look, I want to believe the guy is innocent. Period.

Yikes, DVD's if that is the case, is serious business. People have beat computer porn stating things similar to Harro and thats not to say they weren't innocent, just that its hard these days to prove someone intentionally downloaded anything on their computer.

I know a few people that would absolutely seek blood if enough money was taken from them from a network, but none that would attack an affiliate manager, they are just pawns on the chess board.

Regardless, it is in fact innocent until proven guilty, and though Adam caused me some bullshit with a lot of money at stake, I would assume it was at the networks seeking and even still no one deserves the kind of public humiliation we see today before a guilty verdict is reached.

If he is guilty, I hope he gets the help needs, child porn is no joke and is a serious mental illness.

Its easy to hack peoples comps and its easy to download child porn.

No way to know, but i'd like to know what section of his filesystem the media was kept in and the last time they were modified.

Isn't there log files kept by isp's for bandwidth usages?

Seriously, how can he prove hes innocent? How or what sort of evidence is there to collect aside from his PC with the files themselves?

Well, I have always know about the various avenues of getting caught up in sticky situation because of simply owning a computer and surfing the net. And, none of the ways Harro has mentioned is new to me. But, Harro has highlighted a very realistic scary perspective and by the looks of which no body is immune to innocently getting caught up. So yeah, give the law and the accused the time and chance they deserve.

nice post harro. even though it would turn out to be a pretty big coincidence for someone who works full time on the internet to be harboring cp unknowingly, its only fair that we don't make any assumptions we aren't qualified to make. if he's innocent, i hope the poor guy gets off. i mean, fuck, bernard goetz got off

It could be a serious mental illness, or could just be a shitbag who likes little kids, you cant generalize saying everyone who looks at it has a mental illness.

The law is not stupid, they will check everything possible in every situation i posted can be proved innocent if it was around the lines of anything above.

Put it in this terms the easiest and probable way of viewing something thats illegal on the internet could come from one realistic looking link, look at Rick rolling, 2girls2cup for example everyone falls for it millions of times per week. So that proves the theory of how easy it is to unintentionally view something on the web you never wanted.

And this post is in no way saying i support him if he is proven guilty im just putting a point here that it can happen that he is innocent, and he has helped many people in the past and seemed like a brilliant guy, so if he is innocent i do feel for him.

I sure hope he is innocent.....

I clicked an email with "business opportunity".......it turned out to be some link for child porn, man, talk about pissed off!

The things that I emailed this asshole back, could have probably gotten me into trouble.......

But, the prick deserved it!

I understand the pathology behind it, but not how one can find children to be sexually attractive......God, I just want to put a bullet in someone like that....

Where I live, they post alerts about Child Molesters, when they move into your area. I think this is great, but what scares me is that many of these people seem to locate near schools and so on........a big no-no, when you are on probation.

Anyway, I sure hope that the guy IS innocent.

His life, as he knew it, WILL be over, if he really did it.

Adam was my AM as well. This is why I posted my original thread on the topic in Jr. VIP lock-up. One never knows what is going on inside of your PC. Could be trojans, malware, P2P, etc.

If he had DVD's though, that's a whole different ballgame.

Still, here in the U.S. you are innocent until proven guilty,

A shitbag who likes little kids has a mental illness. I think this is the sickest possible thing that someone can do, and anyone who does it does has a mental illness. It is a mental illness no matter which way you look at it. It is not normal and the people who take part have something really screwed up in their head.

Thanks for putting this in perspective Harro. Adam was always nice to me and should have a fair chance to defend himself. Anyone could have orchestrated this, and it's very scary that in the internet age, this could happen so easily and screw someones life up so bad. Time will tell if he's telling the truth, but like anyone else, he should have a fair chance to let the facts run their course.

From my understanding: You can't be charged with anything unless they find evidence in the seized property when performing a search warrant.

Meaning, they had to find something on his computer or the DVD's to charge him with such a crime.

Right?

IF he's innocent, than I hope he won't get into jail...it can be a really tough place for pedos. In my country they're tortured and sometimes killed by other inmates. That's why if possible they're locked up in cells with other pedos, but many times it's not possible...

Of course if Adam is not innocent than he'll get what the judge thinks he deserves.

Everything stated above explains this. It is possible this was planted or on his computer without him knowing about it. If so, they would find it there and could charge him with it. As Harro said, they would seize all CD's and DVD's whether they had something on it or not. We don't know that, because the article simply stated that they confiscated DVDs and CDs, which would be normal.

Correct, so this pretty much points to

A) Someone put the files in there
B) Downloaded by accident
C) He did it

Now, How could someone find out you saw a webpage that was not supposed to be seen? The only way is if an authority shut down the page and saw the IP logs or something...

Someone had to report him.. Most def.

Poor guy if he did not do it... Still, they need to convince 12 people that he is in fact guilty... the Jury knows better than that, they will hopefully have good judgement.

I've got one question to all of you guys: What can we do if we find a child porn related website?

I had many proxy sites for over a year, and somebody referrer spammed one of my proxies and I checked the site, and it was about 6-8 years old girls in clothes that whores wear. I was damn sure that it's just a 'taste' before the 'real' content can be accessed for money (the whole site was built like porn sites). I Googled a couple of child related organizations, and I emailed them. I also looked up the hosting information of the site and sent an email to the hosting company that they should look into the whole site, because I'm fucking sure it's not just a simple website with pictures like that about little girls. I got only one email, after I sent out like 5 emails to the organizations and to the hosting company...the only response came from the hosting company and they said: it's not illegal in holland (the site was hosted in holland) to show those pictures of the girls (they were not nudes, they were dressed like whores and they posed like porn stars... ), and they also said it's not proven that the site is a child porn site, so they won't do anything about it, not even checking the uploaded files of that hosting account...

So my question again: what can a webmaster do if he finds a site like this?

Report, hope, move on. Is a pretty good answer to the above, thats all one can do, id advise not following the link twice.
