How much is a forum profile backlink really worth?
If i drop a link on a PR6 forum, how much is that link really going to be worth?

One profile link is not going to do you a lot of good, you need to do them in bulk. Profile links work pretty well for low to moderate competition niches. Not sure they work quite as well for high competition niches and keywords. You do need other types of links to mix it up though for the best results.

It's all about mixing and matching. If you create one link you'll get jack shit. If you create 500 links using the same method it's still not going to do you any good. This is why linkwheels (And all the other versions of linkwheels) exist. Web 2.0 + Profiles + Social bookmarking + RSS + article directories + blog commenting + whatever you can think of should do the trick. Just use those special techniques and you'll be ranking for keywords in no-time :D

lets say you did an xrumer blast and have 6000 successful profiles created with your backlinks and anchor text, whats the best way to make google recognize those backlinks? is it better to just wait until they are seen normally, or to ping them or something to force google to recognize them?

It really depends on what link building you are doing in the future. If you did a 6k run and do not plan on doing any more for awhile then go natural. If you are planning on doing 6k every day or two then bookmark them. What you do not want to have is Google to find a bunch of your links at one time and then have nothing following. Steady link building is what you want Google to see.

Make RSS Feeds containing those links (I suggest no more than 300 links per feed) and send them to as many RSS directories as you can. That should be a great help in getting them noticed by google.
